Is Surtain/Jobe the best CB duo we have had under Saban?

I’m trying to think. They are extraordinary.
Off the top of my head....
Arenas/Jackson
Kirkpatrick/Milner
Humphrey/Averett.
I think Surtain/Jobe is better than all of them

Dre and Milner were good but Dee was just a freshman playing with Dre.
It’s Jobe and Pat by a substantial margin for me. Javy played mostly nickel but Marquis Johnson was really good as a senior.
Jobe is going to fly at the combine and he’s built like Hercules. First round pick

I honestly believe Malachi Moore is already just as good as Jobe. If not better. Kid is an absolute stud. He reminds me so much of Marlon and Minkah in his play style.
I'm so excited for the future of this secondary. Battle, Hellams, Moore, and Branch are all looking like they have great futures ahead of them. Then there is everyone else too. Those guys have stood out though. They've made inexperienced mistakes, but unlike a guy like Daniel Wright, their effort and "want to" cannot be questioned.

I was hoping Jobe would come back next year, but if he is a 1st rounder he is gone.
Bama going to have a ton if 1st rounders in next year's draft.
Surtain
Waddle
Smith
Mac
Leatherwood
Jobe
Harris

Yes they are. They lockdown things so well people forgot they were out there earlier this year when they said we didn't have any talent.

They also played together in 2011 when Dee was a Sophomore, and while he didn't get the recognition until 2012, Dee was clink clink in 2011 as well.

They are definitely up there. I think Surtain is the best corner we've had. Jobe reminds me of Kareem Jackson, but Jobe actually turns and finds the ball.

Jobe might be the most physical corner we have ever had. That’s saying something since we have had some guys that are physical.
Surtain came in as a 5 star and in my book has exceeded expectations, the kid is just absolutely solid at corner. Don’t really see any weaknesses in his game.

I’ve been impressed with the improvement in tackling, especially open field by the DBs. Not much gets by them. The running to the ball and locking up is textbook.

Was Humphrey the starter with Cyrus Jones in 2015?

Speaking of the DB's. Is Moore the best true frosh to play under Saban?

I dont think any of these duos are comparable due to the offensive system changing during Saban's tenure. It's a different era. You can't select the best duo without some additional requirements.
Id ask....If you put any of these guys on today's team, in a more pass happy league, which duo would you take?

Humphrey/Averett.
Where those 2 better on-field at Alabama than Anthony Averett/Levi Wallace? Those two did take us to the 2017 national championship.
Humphrey gave up more deep than Levi.

I was going to bring this up, but when I was looking at the wiki for the 2017 team, it showed as Wallace and Averett playing the same CB spot, so I couldn't remember if Tony Brown played the other side and Wallace and Averett alternated. Either way, Wallace is one of, if not the, most underrated player of the Saban era.

I'd go with Minkah, but Moore is very good.
