I know this is a May thread but I'm just getting back in the swing of watching highlights from the last ten years (thanks RollTide1987 ).
I forgot how damn good Maze was. He gets little credit but he made plays all over the place.

Calvin Ridley is. He's going to be an elite pro.

But Maze was a great player for Alabama. He just didn't give a shite once he got too an NFL training camp

Ridley was a 1st round draft pick. He wasn't exactly under the radar.

He's also pretty good on youtube...

He didn't really give a shite at Alabama, either.

Norwood for WRs.
Vote Yeldon for RBs. His team wasnt great in his final year, and thats sort of how Trent, Mark, Eddie, Henry were able to be remebered so well (and were obviously great players anyway). Yeldon didnt go out on a great note like others did. Also he had a bad fumble against LSU. But he made some huge plays as a freshman that helped win a title. And aside fromma couple of fumbles, he was pretty reliable. Im not saying he is the best player of all-time, just that people forget about him.

Actually had a class with him. Dude really didn't care about much.

I would imagine a lot of these FBS football and basketball players don’t really care about their classes

Came into class with a big arse knot on his forehead because his dumbass dropped the bar in the weight room.

So he just magically stopped caring once he was able to really get paid for it?

right off the top of my head, i'm thinking levi wallace on the defensive skill positions.
on the offensive skill positions, cant make my mind up. toss up between kelly johnson, brian vogler and jalston fowler

He may have seemed like a laid back dude to you, but it's pretty difficult to say this guy didn't care.

It's easy to care when you're in the national championship.

Meh.
Marquis Maze was one of my favorite players while a student at Alabama. Maybe he didn't care about anything but you would have never known it watching his play on the field. Unlike the talented and wasted DJ Hall, Maze never seemed to take plays off and, at least in my opinion, maximized his potential.
After Julio Jones left, he became our go-to receiver and filled that role admirably.

I feel like Yeldon is a good vote. Dude was a beast while he was at Bama, he just played behind underwhelming OLs in his final two years, after running behind one of the GOAT OLs his freshman year. He had no less than 1100 yards from scrimmage every year he was at Alabama.
Norwood is also a great vote. Mr. Clutch.

I remember seeing Maze pre draft in the Tuscaloosa Mall for a signing or something.
Dude had a gut, that 185 pounds wasn't good weight on his 5-7 frame. Maybe that hamstring injury played a part, but he looked like a regular joe, not a D1 athlete.
I think he could have been much more than a dude shucking bail bonds in Tarrant now if he had half of Julio's focus...

He was a bulldog
I recall a play in 2010 where he torched Pat Peterson on a go route and made a great play in tiger stadium
