Idk, I think Taulia and even Bryce Young both would be a better option.
Any chance either of them 2 give him legit competition?

No, but he'd clearly be the betting favorite as of today.

2020 spring camp will be open competition between the trio of Mac, Taulia, & Tyson & will probably not be decided till late August or Sept 5 kickoff with USC.

Technically nobody is the for sure QB any year, so no doubt it will be a competition.
I have no issue with him being the starting QB.
I thought Taulia was supposed to be more of a project than Tua. But it could also be one of those situations where the starting QB changes after a few games if he is legit and doesn't take it to start the season.
Young seems like a stretch to me.

I see more GMac than AJ in his skill set so far.
And no, I don’t think he’s the anointed one yet with Talia, Tyson and potentially Bryce Young all in the mix.
That is a STRONG QB room to beat out and with the defense still unsettled on paper after this year I don’t think Saban can just go safe game manager ala 2009 and expect to win the SEC.

Mac is a solid QB and has really gained confidence throwing and running. If he continues this trend he could be pretty damn good.

Think how the offensive line plays out will certainly play a factor.

I’ve liked how improved he’s looked this year, but I’m still not convinced he’d be able to lead us to a title of any kind next year

I think Jones is a great backup QB to have and would be very adequate with the 1s if need be.

above someone said Tyson..He aint even close. if he was in the mix he would have played this year so far. I bet both he and Lia will get a RS year meaning the coaches are preparing Jones for next year

Why? The line won't block any better for one than the will the other. They are all pro style passers. No dual threat after Tua leaves.

I'm not mistaken, and I don't know about Young, but LIA's brother tho...
