My glass is always half empty but DDBama's glass had a huge hole in it. I wish ole KingPin would join in. I hope he is doing well.

I get what you're saying. It's hard to pinpoint this team's identity just yet.

The thing that I love about Avery, though, is the excitement he brings to the program. Plus, his recruiting is as good as I've seen at Alabama (and I've been a fan since the early 80s).

Then, there's this: Avery Juking MJ

Having a former NBA player and Coach of the Year brings a great deal of clout and respect to our program.

At the end of year 3 will give us a better understanding of Avery's ability.

Very premature to bail on Avery or this team. Did u people think we were gonna go 40-0 and win it all?

Avery knows what he’s doing. There are just very young. We don’t even have Braxton back yet. And he needs to reign Petty in a bit without hurting his confidence.

I’m not worried about Avery. Guys like him, who go undrafted and end up in the Hall are not the type to give up. I think he will learn and grow and get it done.

Couldn't agree more. He has had 2 less talented teams on the bubble , this team can do something special once they grow a little more

I can't believe people on here thought he was going to be better than Sexton. He's too one-dimensional and he's streaky in that one dimension. Jones is our 2nd best freshman thus far.

I think Petty is going to win us some games, but also shoot us out of some games. He definitely fits the Malik Monk (hopefully) part of the UK duo comparison him and Sexton were getting pre-season.

I think KingPin claimed to have recruiting insider information.
then on signing day back in around 2010, he posted how Bama had recruited some guy, alwasy named "Recruit X", from a Caribbean Island (Haiti?) that was super fast ansd could catch everything because he was seen with people throwing melons to him, etc.

KingPin's best troll was the Reuben Randle and Taco Casa wearing his Bama hoodie....

now I remember. He made up a recruit from Hawaii that was named Alphonse something and was like a world record cliff diving champion. Played WR and was 6'8 275 or some crazy shite like that

I still think this thread is relevant. Looks like a high seed in the NIT. We had the talent for so much more.

High seed in the NIT? You do realize after losing to Mizzou we’re still projected to be a 9 seed in the NCAA tourney right?

I will go with Avery is a Black version of Mark Gottfried ....good recruiter and average coach....street ball...beat some pretty good teams but lost to many poor teams

This is Alabama Basketball....

Unfortunately, I was one of those people. The few times I watched Petty play in HS, he was much more than one dimensional, and he wasn't as streaky. I seriously thought his game would translate to SEC ball easier than Sexton. I thought his size and ability to shoot would help him. I was wrong....again.

Street ball? Jesus Christ, I won't even touch that one.
