If the top guys would have played their Sr seasons.

If coordinator turnover didn’t rival that of the Bessemer Jack’s.

If we had just decent stability, we’d probably be sitting on 7 NCs in the last 10 years rather than 5.

Just imagine what all that DL, LB, and DB talent returning would look like. Imagine what it would be like for these 4 & 5 star kids to get 2nd team reps and advice behind MF29 and the like instead of being forced into action too soon.

Imagine the few extra top tier recruits Bama would get with stability on the recruiting trail.

Imagine if a Bama offense could add plays & wrinkles each year rather than a total revamp.

Saban is truly a victim of his own success. It’s amazing he’s navigated these waters as well as he has.

That said, it’s time for Saban to get ‘Alabama guys’ (or at least SEC guys) on the staff rather than hired guns. I would love to see Saban focus on winning a couple of championships with the 2017 & 2019 classes as the nucleus, instead of worrying too much about 2021 recruiting. This thing is getting close to the end, so let’s go out with a bang.

Bama will have the offense to win a Natty this year.

In 2020 the defense should be elite again, offense will have to rebuild.

Ok is this where we start with we need more 3* because they love Bama and will play hard and stick around?

Saban wants the best: the best players, best coaching talent, the best facilities, the best of everything.

You can’t hold these players or coaching talent back. These guys? at lest physically if not mentally, could play in the NFL. Coaching talent too jumps around. Hell look what the Rams have put together. Yes it’s a by product of having so much elite talent and top guns that it’s hard to balance these personalities and their ambition These players and coaches are elite for a reason.

We have won five out of the last ten and I am not prepared to shift what has worked for us because Dabo sells that family shite like the Barn and got one over us. We “fhamblee”. You are going defer on a 5* from Cali for a 3* from Bama? You are not going to try and get the best coaching minds? Just because they might be more loyal?

People wanting"alabama guys" is why we got stuck with the late 90s and early 00s.

Yep, hope the school learned the lessons when that time comes.

I've preached the importance of grabbing the 3 star if it's clear the 4 or higher is not looking at Bama that hard. Better to have a capable body in that spot then no one.

I say if not for all the injuries the 16 Natty is ours and a good possibility that 17 is a 15-0 year.

Wasnt Demeco Ryan's an Alabama low star guy? Rashad Johnson? Had a lot of great Alabama guys come through here.

Its not so much in state players as it is southern players that played at the right HS's and in the areas with tough competition.

I'd like to see some of the staff from 2008-2012 return. If Mcelwain flames out at CMU, bring him back as OC. Lance Thompson & Bo Davis too
