Having our lone premiere non-conference game be a neutral site game EVERY SINGLE YEAR is tiresome.

I can understand doing it every now and then, but surely everyone can remember the days of hosting teams like Oklahoma and UCLA in Bryant Denny (and prior tot hat teams like USC and Nebraska at Legion Field).

A huge part of what makes college football awesome is ON CAMPUS ATMOSPHERE. Doing it at neutral site is cold, sterile, and a huge inconvenience for the fans.

I don't mind playing in a big neutral game site every so often, but doing it EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. has gotten exhausting.

I agree, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited as hell to go to the Florida State game in a brand new stadium

So is everyone else but it is not changing. Already have Duke and Louisville lined up with Miami being negotiated.

more than likely these big games done happen if they are not neutral site. Since I don't have season tickets and very seldom go to games I am ecstatic for these big matchups. It is a huge incentive for the players knowing they have a big one like this instead of some directional school. These venues love Bama

We all are. They don't care.

I just feel bad to those who pay to go to all of those games.
That's a lot of cash that folks have thrown out who have been to all of these kick off neutral site games.

Apparently it's in the best interest of the schools, financially, to schedule neutral site games over home and homes.

Didn't we have a home and home with Michigan State and Georgia Tech and the conference expansion explosion dissolved all that?

I know money is king but I wish the 1 and 2 seed of the CFP had a home game. This CFP is not friendly AT ALL to the ticket buying fan.

Agreed. The PSU home and home was awesome.

Oh, I remember. I remember getting our asses handed to us. I'm good with dominant teams and neutral site games. We play on campus 11 times every season. That's enough.

Yeah, Bama had a home and home scheduled with Michigan St for 16 and 17. USC and FSU are a lot better then two games with Michigan St.

Not all of us. I've enjoyed going to all of them. This will be the first one I've missed, and I hate that I'm not going.

My only wish is that they would schedule some of the different sites.

The state of Georgia has some major, major studs in the classes of 2019 and 2020. Maintaining a presence in that state will be huge moving forward.

Have you told Coach Saban that you're exhausted ?

I know it's a big trend in college football the last decade, but it's not good for the sport or the fans.

As I said before, I'm not against them, I thought they were super cool at first, but I just don't like the idea of never hosting a big non-conference game in Bryant Denny again.

Coaches like it for recruiting I'm sure and universities like it for the pay day and flexibility (a home & home locks you in for 2 years).

But at some point in time the interest of the fans has to be taken into consideration right?

which fans are you talking about. I am a fan and I am ok with these types. I think you are talking for a small minority of fans.

I've been to several of the neutral site games and I enjoyed the trips. I also understand where you are coming from with the idea of home and home series. Huge influx of revenue to T'town for one of these big OOC games. Also see the reward of playing in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Tampa-Orlando, etc. High profile and fertile recruiting grounds! Saban and staff get to invite some of those stud HS players to games like that. 17 year old kid getting comp tickets to Jerry World as a guest of BAMA!! Saban says to the kid, "If you come to BAMA, I can guarantee you that you will have the opportunity to play in an NFL venue at least once before you graduate. By the way, you also will have the chance to win a couple of these cool Natty rings!"

I think you have it backwards. These games require more time, energy, effort, and money to go to than regular home games. The people who can go to these games is a small subset of the whole fanbase.

Luckily Alabama's fanbase is big enough that this subset is still large.

I myself have been to all the neutral site games in Atlanta and likely will go to this year's as well. I would prefer it in Bryant Denny though.
