I'm Having Trouble Understanding The Media

Could someone tell me if I have this right ?
Last season when OSU did not win their division much less the conference:
Media- "conference championship does not matter. You have to take the four best teams. OSU should be in the playoff. Conference championship does not matter."
This season OSU wins conference:
Media- "you have to win your conference. OSU should be in even with two really bad losses because conference championships mean everything."
Does anyone find it funny that none of the panels are mentioning that this same exact scenario played out last season in OSUs favor as Penn State was left at home.
By the same exact reasoning that helped get OSU in last season they should be left at home this season.
Can the committee get away with this level of hypocrisy ?
Not to mention that OSU got humiliated after the committee gift-wrapped a trip to the playoff last season.

Ohio state is probably the most powerful brand in all of college sports in terms of alumni, media Etc.
People say we get favoritism and we probably do, but just a little bit of it. Ohio state gets it out the arse.
If it were any other team in America I'd be 100% sure we would go over them. Since it's Ohio state is probably 50-50

The panels mission is to find the Four Best Teams.
Where they come from shouldn't make a damn, but since anything involving humans is corrupted of course this one simple task is as well.

This. The only reason we have a committee is because the other BCS conferences were pissed the SEC got two teams in 2011. The criteria they have is set up the way it is so they can justify any decision they make.

I keep reading people saying OSU resume is better. Well its not about who has the best resume. It helps, but we would beat OSU on a neutral site most likely. That is all that matters right now, and that would mean we are one of the best 4 teams in the country.
I was listen to one person on SVP talk about how all season long people talked about BAMA being the best team in the country no issues. Lose to rival at there place and where not one of the best 4 with how we destroyed our teams we face.
OSU not really mention as one of the best teams int he country...Never really blew away the competition, and got beat soundly and fairly by Iowa by 31 points. Like the guy said no flukes lead to an arse kicking.
Now people are all OSU should be in there. Give me a break. Grow a pair committee and put Bama in at 4 and make the world melt.

Their job is to sell ad spots, within reason.
