Might be the only way Bama keeps Tosh. Though I would be a bit concerned, has he ever called the defensive plays anywhere before?

He hasn’t, but being under 3 of the best defensive minds in the game for 4 years can’t hurt

I'm on board. Seems like a natural transition.

That's not gonna change. That's a Kirby trait.

Kevin Steele I keed I keed

I think Tosh would be a natural progression. He is in the same area/time frame that Kirby was when he was handed the keys back in 2008.

Ans he worked under Kirby so there's a chance he could run things Kirby, and not Pruitt, style.

If Pruitt leaves I will hate to see our recruiting this year.. only so many dings you can take. We are still feeling it from last year

That would limit his ability to recruit.

Great recruiter. Always has a tough, nasty defense. Has won at every place he's been. I don't see Saban staying much longer (4 years max). Gained a bunch of respect nationally for sticking with UAB. He's willing to test the edges of what's allowed. Etc. Etc.

UAB has been in D1A for 20 seasons. They've been bowl eligible 5 times, 2 of those being the only 2 years he's been the coach. They are currently 8-4. This is the 1st time they've ever won 8 games.

FWIW

The rumor making rounds in some high school coaching circles is that the deal is agreed upon and will be announced tomorrow.

I don't get why he would wait a little while longer for a better job like Kirby did. Oh well, at least we can for sure keep Tosh now.
