I guess we should be thankful only two guys are sitting the bowl game out.

I don't feel very thankful though. I was vocal about Leonard Fournette quitting on his team in 2016 so I have to call out Diggs and Lewis for quitting on their team. You may not think they owe it to me to play this game (different conversation) and that's fair ( or maybe not) but they owe it to their teammates. I will always view them in a different light than I see a guy like Jerry Jeudy etc because of this.

One last thing is that I think its possible that both of these guys could have helped their draft position with a solid game against a good Michigan team. Neither of these guys lived up to their potential this year. In fact, you could say their performance was disappointing. Preseason, Lewis was hailed as a possible top 15 pick by Mcshay.

Roll Tide to both of these guys and I wish them success and happiness moving forward but I really dont think they made the right decision.

I’m actually okay with Lewis given his terrible run of injuries. Just get him out in one piece and let him make some money.

Both of their careers were pretty disappointing, so I'd say sitting out a 2nd tier bowl game after they did frick all down the stretch when we really needed them is a pretty fitting end to both.

I don't know how anyone could be angry at Lewis for sitting this game out, no matter their general feelings. The guy finally survived a full season and made enough plays to probably be a 2-3 round pick and get paid a lot of money.

Diggs - I mean it's up to him and he has a 1st round grade, so I get it, but it'd be tough to end your career on a low note like that.

Looked like they both sat out the Auburn game. Is our FG Kicker sitting out too?

Diggs only really had one bad game. I mean it was a pretty bad game as he gave up as many yards in that game (about 130) as he had all season long up to that point. Against AU he did miss a few tackles, but he gave up 1 reception for 15 yards (3 total targets in 3 games).

This isn’t quitting. We aren’t going to win the national championship, the seasons over. If they don’t want to play in an exhibition game, well frankly, who could blame them?

I guess I'm old school, I feel disappointed when they sit out.
Fans are going to the bowl, they'd like to see their favorite players play.
I'd be okay if they only wanted to play a half.
But, to me, it's a team sport and they're supposed to be part of the team

I'm probably in a minority in that once you forgo playing in the bowl game you should not be allowed to travel with the team, enjoying the atmosphere & bowl experience.
Good luck & don't need that player around those who are excited about the opportunity.

If you’re excited about a 9th place game, then so be it. I have no problem with any of them sitting out. This game means zilch

Meh, if they want to sit out, that's their choice. They have to live their own lives. I'm not gonna hold a grudge, but I don't think of the guys that let the team down like that (and yes, that's what they're doing) in the same light as I do somebody that gives it their all.

In summary: Very disappointed in those two, but it doesn't make them bad people.

I don't give a damn if its the toilet bowl.
I don't want the season ending with a loss & to Big 10 Michigan.

More of them should sit out so that the guys that will be here next year can get more reps.

They'll get plenty of reps in spring practice and Fall camp.

ETA: If the guys who play kick arse all game, we can rotate the new guys in throughout the game and get them meaningful reps as well.

Both have had serious injuries in their careers. I get it. I don’t like it. But I get it.

I hope this is one of the traits Saban is going to pay more attention to in recruiting.
