I find this thread highly offensive.

They have a better offensive coach and a better QB. That's not really a shot at Jalen either. Silvers can sling it.

Imagine how good our offense would look against the likes of North Texas

Probably like it did against Fresno, Colorado State, and Mercer- unimaginative and predictable

South Alabama held them to 8 points.

Guess we would be completely fricked vs South Alabama.

To anyone who complains about being unimaginative and non creative against certain teams ...We don't have to be anything but basic against those teams. Get a lead, run what we run, get young guys playing time.

Agreed

The problem is that the offensive plan is the same against bad AND good teams.

I'm guessing you sucked at sports, but if you practiced for mediocrity and deliver it in some games... guess what you're likely to see when it counts?

I disagree with this philosophy.

Youd be guessing wrong , I actually was a pretty good athlete but u made an assumption and u know what they say about assuming. Don't give me this crap about mediocrity and preparing, Saban hasn't built a program on mediocrity but I suppose we should aspire to be like Troy and hire brown .

Here’s the funny part of this all. Clemson shapes their game plan around Kelly Bryant’s strengths because in reality he is totally average. They do lots of wide runs, screens, and short throws.

If our OC would scheme around the same, seeing as Hurts is actually better than Bryant we would likely have beat Auburn. This forcing our QB to be a pocket passer is so weird.

So is it just stubbornness on the part of the coaches.. trying to conform payers to a preferred scheme, as opposed to altering the scheme to fit the players?

Maybe they misjudged Hurts ability to adapt, thinking he would progress more than he has?

Why would the greatest coach of all time and an NFL level coordinator not see what we see?

This is a problem I think. Daboll is an NFL guy. Jalen is a college quarterback. The two don't mix well. The amount of plays we run without a check down or even a short route is pretty ridiculous.

NFL coaches suck in college pretty often. Coaching NFL and college is a different skill set. One isn't better than the other.
