How does this effect recruiting in the long term?

Does this put schools like Ohio State and USC back 20+ years? This seems like a death penalty ruling from the NCAA for Pac 12 and BIG teams. I honestly don't know how they can recover. Does this change boosters mindsets as well for these schools in the BIG?

It doesn't set them back 20 years, but if the B12, SEC, and ACC do play it will have the same effect as if every team in Pac12 and B1G were suddenly put on massive NCAA probation.

Guys like Justin Fields will go pro and a few will decide to just move on with life but there's no way the NCAA won't grant an additional year of eligibility to those players that want to return in 2021. The holdovers will count against the 85 scholarship limit so every single school in those conferences are looking at signing WAY under the normal 25 next year.

That's a double whammy - thinner depth for a couple of years down the road and a lot more talented players going to the conferences that played this fall.

Cole Cublic said he talked to 3 power 5 head coaches of teams that are in the 3 conferences that are still working toward playing, and all 3 said they have been flooded with players that have initiated talks about transferring. They want to play! He also said if they pull this off (Fall football) it will be a financial bonanza for those schools because of the TV contracts.
