I assume we're not talking politics now and we've moved on to actual science (cause and effect). Countries that have a history of mask-wearing and doing what you're told for the betterment of the whole are not struggling with this pandemic.
Like South Korea. A tiny Asian country a little north of 50 million people. In contrast, we have states like North and South Dakota, less than a million humanoids in each and our death toll is higher in both than South Korea.
They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I believe it will keep you alive longer too.

Here's the real deal:
1. Masks help reduce risk.
2. Covid kills some people.
just like underwear and thick jeans control farts
flu, pneumonia, otc meds, alcohol, cigarettes, cars, fast food, you name it, it all kills people.
the people with preexisting conditions conducive to death with help from corona virus, should be careful no doubt. but everyone else should live their lives normally. we have basically sanitized ourselves to a weakened immune system. otherwise, this would be basically nothing at all.

I've been to South Korea. Seven times.
They are less susceptible to this disease because they aren't 60+ pounds overweight as a nation.
Americans are fat and lazy.
Perhaps making a lifestyle change would be more beneficial than wearing a $5 mask with a rainbow flag on it.
ETA: Oh look. Another mask wearing nation is seeing a huge spike in cases.
Japan records high of daily virus cases, amid worrying spike
But they aren't lard asses either, so the death toll will be minimal.

Does that mean the normal ones get to continue to keep breathing, spitting, coughing, touching all those folks that closely resemble the demographics of the other 250,000 graves in this country that have already been dug?

Go to Wal-Mart and maybe 25% of the people are wearing masks.
Here they are not allowed in the store and if they remove it while in the store security will escort them out.

You spit, cough and touch on random strangers when you are in the grocery store?
Jesus.
You do need a lifestyle change.

Im not worried about it. Biden said he is going to shut down the Virus, but not shut down the US. We only have to stay alive until January. Trump should just go ahead and put him in charge of the virus. The rest of the world can copy what Joe does to shut it down.

So in a country of over 125 million people, Japan has had less than 2000 COVID deaths nationally. Obviously, not all "spikes" are created the same.
Japan reported that they had more suicides in the month of October than the total number of COVID deaths for the last 10 months.
Stick to science, it will keep you alive longer.

You haven't been to the grocery store will me. And if that's what everyone is doing wouldn't that explain why our hospitals and morgues are overflowing again?

Who cares. Live your life. If anyone believes this stupid hoax still then need help beyond this world.

Not that I entirely disagree with you, but all the people using the word “hoax” don’t seem to know what it really means

Were you under the impression it was supposed to be 100% effective? It might help if everyone would actually wear one too, or even wear them appropriately.
Not 100% effective, but WAY more people are wearing them now than were in May, June, and July (before any sort of mandate went into effect) and the numbers NOW are worse. So you tell me how well they are working.

Do you honestly think 1 in 20 people has had this? That seems very high to me.
I think more than that have had it.

Is more testing is being done "NOW" than in May, June and July?

So then we aren't really worse off now? That's good news to me.
And we also were doing more testing in September and October when the numbers were lower than in those summer months. So your rationale makes total sense.

Politics again?
Saying America as a nation has a huge issue with morbid obesity is political?
What?

Like ignoring the data showing our nation as a whole is ridiculously overweight? That science?

Every nation on the planet is seeing a spike in suicides over this pandemic. I don't know why you are celebrating it though. It's actually quite disgusting.

Are you high?
You are the one claiming people are spitting, coughing and touching on people in stores.
That's not normal behavior. It's another ridiculous statement not grounded in reality.

Our hospitals aren't overflowing. Kill the hyperbole.

Did you bother reading the article? 26% of our ICU beds are currently occupied by COVID patients.
