Hatred of Alabama

I’ve not been to the SECr or MSB since last night. I’ve also unsubscribed from r/CFB because I know it’s futile arguing with any of them. It’s Bama versus the CFB world right now.

Well no body hates or cares about a loser. When you win and win consistently you’re gonna be hated. Comes with the territory.

I would imagine had there been social media in the 50's when Oklahoma was kicking arse and taking names, it would have probably been this bad. 47 game win streak.


The closest thing I can think of in modern times would be USC about 10 years ago. I know I hated them and was a ready for their "dynasty" to end.

I remember hunting in Illinois and watching the aTm game where Manzel won the heisman against us in 2012. Everybody at Buffalo Wild Wings that was not an Alabama fan was cheering for aTm. That was 5 years ago and before the playoff. We are the only team to be in all 4 playoffs. Haters gonna hate. I'm just trying to enjoy this as much as possible. I truly believe we are on the back end of Saban's time at Alabama and we will have to come back to earth at some point.

There have been 4 playoffs and we've been in them all.

We've seriously contended for the national championship 9 of the last 10 years (winning it 4 times and being extremely close to winning it another 2-3 times).

People are absolutely sick of us.

I get it too. When I was a teen in the 90's I hated Nebraska, was just sick of them winning every game every year.

I had the same thing with USC in the early 2000's.

Our run is just really, really long so it's wearing on people big time.

I'm pretty active on Reddit as well, but I am so shocked by the level of hatred now. It makes sense to have Alabama fatigue, but it is on another level now. Especially because Alabama's weak schedule when they really can't help it. Alabama plays in the SEC west and that usually carries weight, but it is a down year. Also FSU imploded.

sagarin, for what it's worth, has the sec west as the number one division in college football this year. but then the sec east is the weakest of the power 5's.
