That Jones kid from Temple...I hope we didn't waste a scholly on that guy. Glad to see Bulovas knocking them straight down the middle. Let's hope he keeps on doing it. Welcome aboard!

Yeah, just like when that Tiffin kid missed all those FG's against Arkansas. Total loser that guy was.

Missing 3 extra-point kicks in 2 games was eye opening.

That's bad.

A change had to be made.

Jones must not be able to handle game pressure. He had to have won the job somehow. But yeah, Bulovas all the way now.

I wish we had a backup punter with the potential of #97. I see bad things ahead with #12 as the punter. Teams are going to block some kicks if our guys don't get better.

Tiffin was a true freshman on the road (I think it was our first road game that year too) in a hostile environment. Austin Jones is a senior grad transfer who was kicking at home against a cupcake.

Plus he has missed three extra points. That’s three too many.

Anybody know Bulovas' range?....on the punting front, it's a bitch losing about 15 yds. per kick over last year. I hope they can work on the kid's leg strength....or go shopping for another guy around fraternity row.

Coach God creates punters.....you can enhance for sure but that leg Pop you have or you don't. I was the punter and about 42-45 from toe to receiver. This current guy is a tad better but not much. #97 drilled right down the middle on his attempts. #29 was attacking those extra points like he was trying to kick a 65 yarder.

You're right!. One day, forty something years ago, I rounded the corner to my apartment in Tuscaloosa (Fountainebleu(?) Apts.) and saw this sloppy looking fat guy with 3 or 4 footballs. He had this young kid standing at the other end of the courtyard (close to 100 yards away) retrieving the footballs as he'd punt them. This damn guy was punting the ball outta sight and usually sending the kid toward the backend of the place (70-80 yds). I went on in to my apt., but went to the window and watched the guy and kid punting and retrieving the balls fo 20-30 minutes. When they'd finished, I walked out of the door and went over to the guy and said something like "you can sure kick the hell out of a football...you ought to try your luck out on campus." He said that he was and had just moved in the apt complex. I wished him luck and said that I'd be seeing him around the apts. I introduced myself and he told me his name was...Greg Gantt....one of the most unathletic looking guys you'd ever meet.

It's amazing how we keep missing on kicker evaluations, even when we have homegrown talent. Florida got a kid from Fort Payne,Al. McPherson who Mullen claims can hit from 50-55 yds consistently! And we went and got Jones?

Every kick Bulovas made was right down the pipes, I'm encouraged.

The other guy, jesus tap dancing cripes...

Good collegiate kickers can go their whole career without missing a single XP.

That dude managed to miss 3 in two weeks (and 2 others were only good by an inch or two).

Austin Jones was so bad that our crowd booed him after he missed the second XP. Our crowd never boos our own players. That should tell u how bad he is

I lived on Fountainbleu apartments from 83-85 but I was graduated at the time. Great experience living there.

Even in the first game he was not straight down the middle on the XP's. Something did not look right. 97 was strong and down the pike. The punting does concern me if we have to punt from our own endzone..They will get the ball on our side of the field.
