I was listening to sports radio yesterday and caught the end of a discussion about Ga having 31 seniors on the roster. That really worried me because we all know the importance of senior leadership and maturity. Does anyone know how many seniors start or contribute/play?
On another note, if it's a lot, they had better get it done now. There will have to be a big drop off next year.

From depth chart I found online here are seniors listed as starter/co-starters:

Wims (WR)
Wynn (LT)
Blazevich (TE)
Payne (FB)
Chubb (RB)
Michel (RB)

Atkins (NT)
Carter (LB)
Bellamy (LB)
Carter (LB)
Parrish (CB)
Sanders (S)
Davis (Star)

Nizialek (P)

Not sure how accurate that is.

They have some juniors, particularly on defense, that could be gone too, just like most top teams.

Meh, they have a lot of seniors but a lot of those are back-ups that never see the field. We have plenty of seniors and juniors to provide leadership and direction. By my count, on defense we are starting 9-10 players who are seniors or juniors depending on formation Monday night.

On offense, also 9 upperclassmen. Only Jalen and Jonah are not at least 3rd year players.

Both of our kickers are seniors as well. It's a wash.

Kirby’s doing a great job but boy, people forget that he took over a program that didn’t really need any rebuilding. They fired Richt for winning 9-10 games every year. Not hating on Kirby because I like him, but he really walked into a relatively good situation.

Yep. This team is very much made up of Richt kids. Kirby had all the ingredients ready to go.

Godwin
Wynn
Baker
Gaillard
Cleveland
Blazevich
Payne
Chubb
Michel
Thompson
Atkins
Ledbetter
Carter
Bellamy
Carter
R. Smith
Parrish
Sanders
Baker
Davis

All kids Richt signed.

The only meaningful snaps played by Kirby's signees are Fromm, Hardman, Thomas and Swift. Cleveland technically was in that 1st class but he was committed to UGA for forever under Richt. The Punter is a grad transfer and JR Reed transferred in from Tulsa.

All the credit to Kirby for molding them and getting them to take the next step, but Richt put together a helluva roster (as he did most years). And, to be fair, they brought Kirby in to take what Richt had done and elevate it to another level. And he's done EXACTLY that so far, both on the field and in recruiting.

We have guys that will be playing in a 3rd straight CFP national title game, that experience trumps anything Georgia has.

If 4th year juniors count, then add Gaillard our Center. He is the gem on the OL.

Everybody talks about our experience, and it certainly helps. The biggest change in our roster from most of Richt's, though, is our depth. Last year's UGA senior class is generally thought of as the worst in modern UGA history, and that class was replaced with the highest rated class UGA has had since the recruiting websites started. That flipped the depth chart pretty quick.
