He made some good points, take a listen.

Short version, the defense he is seeing is complicated, he is upset it hasn’t been simplified, and thinks we can pull it together late with a few adjustments.

I was sitting with my wife and she knows the game well. she commented that she noticed that one of the players were confused with a call, I think it was Harris and Jobe? Not sure. It would be easy if we had one simple call for each play.

I’ve been saying this for years. Simplify the defense and just let our 4 and 5 star kids be 4&5 star Kids

NOT COOL, Boz. Isn't there supposed to be some sort of warning when you link to a Stephen A. Smith video?

Dagnabbit! I knew I had that wrong.

I'm tempted to change it, but I'll leave it as proof that I don't know what I'm doing most of the time.

Well, this is Saban's defense. The problems began with the hurry up offenses. It seems to affect us the most in years where there is a good bit of turnover in the secondary. But, I think some of it is the Jimmys and the Joes. The D line also has a big affect on our pass coverage or the lack of it. No Barmore this year. We have some talent on the edges, but not the middle. Cant push the pocket and make the QB uncomfortable.

Does it really matter? They're both clowns.

I said this back in September from a few guys I know who played in the league. They said the defense was to complicated for our guys. They seemed to always be out of position or not set when the ball is hiked.

Simplify it and our D will look a lot better. IMO

This is pretty much in line with my thoughts. Pete knows defense. Pete can't teach it for shite. Pete tries to have the perfect defense for every situation. Pete is unrealistic.

I think we'd give up fewer points if we just had a defense for run and a defense for pass. At least the players would know what to do.

Wasn't it simplified for the Ole Miss game?

This gives a pretty good idea of how complex a Nick Saban defense is. Take the up-tempo offenses of today’s world and this playbook is even more complex:

Yep. A lot. Also vs MSU & Tenn. Our best games defensively.

Those 4 and 5 star kids come to Bama to learn what they need to know to play in the NFL. If we simply told them to see ball get ball we wouldn't be able to sign all these elite kids.

Meanwhile Frodo may be a whiteboard wizard but he clearly can not relay the info to the players effectively, and even if he could it's not worth having to deal with his inability to develop ILB's.

Sounds familiar. Been saying it for three years. Maybe people will listen if someone like Teague says it.
