So, previous advice said to go to Archibald's over Dreamland. Is this still accurate? I'll be honest, pictures of the place look a little sketch. If so, which one? There appears to be one sort of downtown and the other north of the river? Which one is the original?

Also, do people still park at the high school south of the stadium?

the original in Northport is the only one you need to step food in and it's the best!

I have that Archi's sauce in my fridge 365 days a year.

Arhcibald's over Dreamland.

Like a previous poster already stated though, Dreamland's sauce stays in my refrigerator year round.

Yes, Archibald's over Dreamland especially if we're talking about a non-original Dreamland. Going to the original Dreamland is still pretty cool, but it's nowhere near campus.

And sketch looking BBQ places are usually the best ones.

ETA: And Archibald's used to regularly run out of food by lunchtime for big games, so plan on going early. I don't know if that's still the case as I haven't been there on the day of a game since the early 00's.

Sketchy looking BBQ places are usually the best. Give me a BBQ joint made out of cinderblocks that looks like a gust of wind will bring it down over some fancy "BBQ" place.

I like Dreamland’s sauce a bit better, but overall Archibalds is where it’s at.

Archibalds easy. And yes, go to the shack in Northport.

Get the ribs and lots of them.

Stay away from any Dreamland that is a franchise.

I ate at Archibald's once and wasn't impressed.

I like the original Dreamland. Specifically, I like the quality of the ribs they use and how well they are cooked. Their sauce isn't my favorite, though. But I prefer sauces that are more on the sweet side.

Honestly, if your bbq place doesn't lean a little bit and have a screen door, I'm immediately cynical the food is any good.

I'm an older guy and never in my life have I seen any business be able to live off a name better than Dreamland. Very average BBQ, but great name and location in TTown

I agree it's pretty average now, but it was more than worth the hype when Big Daddy was still running the show. I guess he died around 91 or 92, and it started slipping then, and they've been somewhat living off their name and reputation since. Good for his kids that they've cashed in on it though. The sauce is still fantastic.
