I'm sad to admit that the constant Louisiana meltdowns are one of the things I enjoy most about CFB. These people can't possibly believe the stuff they say on a regular basis, although the LA people I know in real life say the same things.

"Good luck getting employment in Louisiana"
"Alabama is a team of mercenaries, they have no heart" (yet somehow the kids they get from other states aren't)
"{insert elaborate conspiracy theory about literally anything here}"

I figure at some point I'll grow up and start feeling bad for them... but not anytime soon.

They are just a sad group of people with a massive inferiority complex that they are always overcompensating for. Louisiana is really no different than any other state in the South, but they talk it up like it's the fricking Garden of Eden and anyone who wants to leave is obviously the devil. That's also how they rationalize that bullshite "anyone who leaves is a dirty traitor, but anyone who comes is family" mindset.

My favorite thing about the conspiracy theories is that they act like us coming in and buying off top recruits in their state is really common knowledge. Every damn one of them has a "friend" who is really plugged in and knows all about it. Yet somehow not a single one of them has turned us in. There's all this evidence laying around, so much so that everybody and their mama can see how them dirty Gumps are cheating, and yet none of it has ever been presented to the NCAA.

Coonasses are the easiest folks in the country to troll..it's really not even fair and that's probably why you sometimes feel remorseful....

Got to be LB and WR. Need couple elite ILBs and the WR depth could take a huge hit with early departures if they have good years again which I see no way that they won’t with Tua at the helm

For sure, Juedy will go to the Draft.... very probably, Ruggs and if Devonta can stay healthy he will also head out. Leaving just Waddle as the "man" for his Junior year. JMHO, but not sure which current WR on the roster rises to the level of the current starters. (Miller F will be a good option for the pass catching TE until the "suspended" TE gets back) but in reality the WR's will def be a position of need...
LB's hoping Lee is going to be a alpha; but if he is, he will only be around for a short time and there needs to be some depth behind Moses and Ale K.

Like all kids, he doesn't seem to understand words like Commit. And every year, CNS mentions the "You Shop, We Shop" and with the idea that he is the 38th DT in Alabama doesn't seem to mean much to him either. If I was the 38th DT in the state and Alabama had allowed me to commit, I would be shutting it down and concentrating on holding my spot.

Meh. I’d imagine this is handled well. His coach is Mike Williams. He played for Saban at Alabama.

Cecil: Bama fans getting a bit numb to how successful Bama has been on NSD. (maybe not numb, but wanting all the recruits)
Defensive front - one of the best in the Saban Era and maybe in history of CFB but will need to see in a couple years. (Was an absolute need)
Davis, Ray, Barmore... and look at the freshmen.

Now that signing day is over... coaching chairs set? CH: think it is, just not announced.
Sark - OC
Golding - DC
not sure about any Co- C's but expects announcements pretty soon.

Just guessing on the position needs for this class.

DL- 3
OL- 3
DB- 4
WR- 4
LB- 5
TE- 2
QB- 2
RB- 2

For QB, Bama might not take two pure QB players, but one a player that can play QB and another position. Kinda like Story.

Any extra spots go to another DL or LB.

I think we can only take 23.

QB-1
RB-2
WR-3
TE-2
OL-3
DL-3
LB-5
DB-4

I'd MUCH much rather have 2 or 3 "late bloomer" Josh Jacobs type of guys than squeeze those guys out for the start ranking guys who never pan out or are pumped full of themselves from the time they are a Soph in HS and touted as god's gift to football.

JMHO..

Looking at the 247 rankings, ILB isn't a very highly thought of spot. We actually have only sent out a few offers to just the ones in the top 5. I think we nab 2 ILB and go for at the very least 3 OLB. Right now we have Jennings, Lewis, Allen, Latu, Harris, and Mwikuta. We need some development from those younger guys. But for WR, it shows we have sent out 26 offers.

Seriously though, we have Bratton and Braswell committed at the LB’er position, and Grimes is a legacy. I think we can get that position taken care of next year. Although, I am a little concerned about Pruitt signing Grimes.

Anoma & Parks are a couple of OLBs you didn't mention. Here's the 2019 Projected Roster. That link is on the 2nd line of this thread's 1st post.

Really surprised that Parks didn't play at all this year. Could have sworn people were talking about him during Fall camp.

We are supposed to be recruiting Antoine Sampah hard. He's an ILB. He's from Woodbridge, VA; goes to the same high school that Da'shawn Hand went to.

2020 - What are the biggest needs for this class?

Not a recruiting or roster expert but it seems like WR, LB and TE will be very important for 2020 class.

After the Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith class the last two WR classes have been smaller. Time for another big WR class.

LB, ILB in particular, seemed like we missed on 1-2 guys leaving us with 2 in the 2019 class. 2018 wasn't huge there either so 2020 need to load up. Always a position where depth is needed.

TE - missed on the guy who went to Georgia this year. Need to double up on TEs next year hopefully with 1 stud TE/WR hybrid and the traditional TE mauler with good hands.

Regarding this commitment issue I think I’m starting to agree with Jason Horowitz on ESPNU on SiriusXM. His idea is do away with signing day. I agree. It’s an outdated concept. Instead, after a certain date, you are free to sign any time you choose. If you wanna commit to Alabama, here’s your LOI. Sign it now and shut it down. If you aren’t ready, don’t commit. It would stop a lot of this drama and bullshite. Of course you’d have to leave an out for the kid if the head coach was fired or left but that should be the only reason. Especially with the transfer portal now.
