Will be interesting to see what Reggie has to say after the weekend... what position will he decide to be recruited as... will Bama have / make room for him? Seems the DE's will be missing a high profile guy next year...(sorry, AA's position is not a joking matter).
Mr Grimes? wondering about you tho!!!

Five-star Friday: New 5-star, movement within top five

quote:

Bryce Young, QB, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei

You would be hard-pressed to find a high school quarterback who has had a better start to the 2019 season than Young. Already ranked as a five-star following a strong junior year and offseason on the camp circuit, Young has continued to elevate play up a notch this fall. The 5-foot-11, 183-pounder has been scintillating on a weekly basis, showcasing elite feel in and out of the pocket along with accuracy and ball placement. He’s consistently making rare individual plays both in and out of offensive structure. Last week saw Young lead his Mater Dei team to a convincing win over N0. 2 ranked Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances. Facing what is perhaps the most talented defense in high school football, Young showed he can beat top teams with his legs in addition to his arm, running for 105 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries. Through four games, the USC commit has completed 73.5% of his passes for 1,272 yards, 14 touchdowns and one interception, while rushing for five more scores. Young is making a strong push as the cycle’s top quarterback prospect with his play this fall and he now ranks as the No. 4 overall prospect, just one spot behind the current top quarterback, DJ Uiagalelei. In a somewhat rare occurrence among top quarterback prospects, the high school rivals will face off in October and very likely again in the playoffs, so we’ll be watching those matchups closely along with the remainder of the season.

Dan Patrick shares information on Urban Meyer, USC's AD search (247-USC)
quote:

On his show Wednesday morning, Dan Patrick revealed that he had a source reach out to him saying that there is a potential road block to hiring Urban Meyer as the program’s next head coach, as well as a name to keep an eye out for in USC's search for its next athletic director.

Patrick’s said his source’s information came from a USC faculty member.

“It would be tough for the new female president to hire Urban Meyer at this point,” Patrick said, relaying his source’s message. “With his past, looked past spousal abuse, and then lied about it.”

Patrick then mentions a potential fit at the AD position that his source told him about, and the candidate has USC ties.

“...I was told Mark Jackson, who is the athletic director at Villanova, used to be at USC, Pete Carroll guy, he would be the guy that they would probably bring in, and then he would bring in his own coach,” Patrick said, again relaying his source’s message...

I was switching between the USC game and HS football earlier. Watched Ga'Quincy McKinstry on TV, and I really hope Bama presses for this guy. He's one hell of an athlete. I don't want to see him in Auburn.
