Can someone with a BOL account summarize this thread?
"Some kid using handle ZacharyEvansToBama made light of UGA paying homage to Kendall Milton in a graphic honoring the anniversary of his Grandfather’s death on his visit to Athens. Kendall’s dad admired the gesture while the twitter user called it grasping at straws and bad taste desperation by Bulldogs trying to snag Milton’s son. Chris Milton the dad hammered the twitter user." -- OP

Recruiting has really turned into a shite show. It's not fun to follow anymore.

This is beyond dumb. I heve seen this twitter handle on Alabama twitter timelines must be a troll.

Alabama lands grad transfer OL
quote:
Alabama added to its 2019 class via the Transfer Portal on Sunday.
Florida State graduate transfer offensive lineman Landon Dickerson has committed to Alabama over Texas A&M and plans to arrive on campus in August, a source with knowledge of the recruitment tells BamaOnLine.
Dickerson spent the weekend in Tuscaloosa on official visit.
The Hudson (N.C.) South Caldwell, originally a member of the 2016 recruiting class, opted to part ways with the Seminoles this offseason.
A rising redshirt junior, Dickerson will be eligible top play for Alabama immediately after finishing classes in Tallahassee this summer. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

A former five-star prospect, according to 247Sports, Dickerson started at right guard for the ‘Noles in 2016 as a true freshman (the first true freshman offensive lineman to start at home for FSU since 1982). Dickerson injured his ACL after making seven starts, missing the remainder of 2016. Despite the shortened season, Dickerson earned Honorable Mention Freshman All-American honors. Dickerson returned to the field in 2017, but injuries plagued him once again, forcing him to miss the last nine games of the season. The Tar Heel State native played in two games during the 2018 season before missing the rest of the season with an injury, ultimately using a redshirt year.
An original member of the 2016 class, Dickerson was rated the No. 4 offensive tackle and the No. 31 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings. 247Sports rated Dickerson the No. 5 offensive tackle and the No. 17 overall player.
This was 247Sports' scouting report on Dickerson coming out of high school:
Dickerson is a big, physical offensive lineman, who is very good at run and pass blocking. He gets off the ball quickly and moves well. Dickerson has a strong initial punch and once he's engaged with his opponent, he shows good power and plays until the whistle blows. He can play too high, so he must continue to work on his technique and flexibility. But there's no doubt he has the potential to be a big-time player in college.
Stay tuned to BamaOnLine for more details on this breaking story.

Note: Dickerson is listed on the 2019 Signing Class post (4th) in this thread, but recruiting sights won't include him in the 2019 class score since he was originally rated/ranked in the 2016 class. Ordinarily, transfers do count against annual siging and initial counter limits. However, Bama may be able to treat him as a replacement for Elliot Baker (who withdrew from the team with remaining elligibility) under the Voluntary Withdrawal Replacement Exception rule. If so, he would only count toward the 85 limit, but not toward annual limits. This Note (link is on the 1st line of the 2019 Signing Class post) explains Bama's numbers situation, as well as the aforementioned exception rule. Typically, Bama doesn't disclose that kind of information, so we may not be able to figure out until February whether he cost us an annual limits spot that could otherwise be used to take a 2020 recruit.

Eric Taylor has 4 new CBs to LSU (from Wiltfong, 2 LSU mods and a UF mod) on the heels of his OV there.
Will Anderson got another CB to Bama from an Auburn mod.

Yeah, Baker was a juco transfer. He got his bachelor's degree in December, but he still had another season (2019) of eligibility (as a grad student) because he redshirted his 1st year at Bama. But he hasn't progressed beyond scout team and got suspended in the same situation as Deonte Brown and Kedrick James. He gone.

I really hope that's true, but I'm skeptical. I thought it would be a Clemson-Auburn battle for him. Has he visited recently or will he in the near future?

Next weekend seems like pretty near future to me.

Will Anderson plans to announce his decision tomorrow at 2 p.m. CT. His finalists are Alabama, Georgia Tech and LSU. CBs are 100% to Bama, including Hank and Tim.

What position does he project at in college? Way too small for DE in our scheme but I can’t imagine we want many more OLBs.

Typically, players listed as WDE (4-3 defense) by recruiting sites project as OLB in a 3-4 defense, and a 4-3 SDE projects as a 3-4 DE. So, Anderson projects as an OLB for Bama's defense. Maybe Bama's staff feels like Anderson has potential at ILB too. I've read that they do feel like Sav'ell Smalls can play both.
