Did Grimes commit to us and I missed it?

Dabo definitely recruits as good as Kirby and always has. Dabo doesn’t try to portrait himself as a saint not even remotely so. He does have a moral compass and isn’t ashamed of his Christianity nor is he ashamed to share his faith. So now both of you have the facts.

Dabo is a phony. After I saw him put in a clearly concussed Etienne the year before last against us in the Sugar Bowl I knew he was scum. Etienne in that game didn't know where he was and Dabo put that kid in the game.

You’re entitled to be wrong and you are incredibly wrong now. Honestly, it’s kinda sad to know you could be so wrong. Clearly you have some underlying bigotry towards Dabo.

I used to like Dabo until I saw what he said about paying student athletes. Something along the lines of "That's where you lose me, I'll go do something else".

Yeah, he's a dbag.

I agree with him.. they become employees at that point not student athletes. Which is why I wish there was a minor league in football, so kids who do not want a education can go play only. Stupid to make these kids sit in classes they have no desire to be in.

I will break it down a little more.. the problem I have is sure Bama might could afford it, but schools like UAB couldn’t. A lot of schools work in the red and barely make the athletic department work as it is.. add on a salary and it gets impossible for those schools. Also all schools would have to pay the same, a salary. It couldn’t be a free agency or Nike, rebook, ect would jump into it and dump money just likes what’s being uncovered in basketball.. and that’s tax fraud a FELONY. The other thing that would happen is this thing called TITLE IX and women would have to be paid the same and all sports paid. Schools would go broke and drop sports altogether. The law suites from paying just male football players would be crazy.

In the end we lose college sports

You'd think that one of these attempts at a spring football league would have actually tried to fit into that niche. Let kids sign out of high school and get paid a little for a few years before they can sign with NFL teams. The NFL itself is never even going to start up anything like the G-League, much less a true minor league system like MLB. It's complete bullshite that football is the only sport you cannot go pro in straight from high school. Even basketball players can go spend a year overseas playing professionally and STILL be eligible for the fricking draft. It's all a racket. The NFL benefits from cost and risk free player development and colleges benefit from the fact that there is literally no alternative for even the elite talent.

Amen.

The worst part is when you get released. Just dump you out of a plane without a parachute.

Then expect you to somehow pay your bills and stay in peak shape in case they or anyone else wants to call you back.

Bryan Bresee sets commitment date of April23. Looks like he will land at Clemson. He just visited them again and says he probably won't take any more visits.
Clemson seems to be getting the Number 1 recruit frequently now. Good times for them.

At least we made his Top 6.

Rakim Jarrett does not seem to be considering us anymore. Did a five minute interview with Rivals did not even mention us as a possibility.
Seems to be leaning to Tennessee and LSU. Taking OV's there. Says likes fun places does not like places & players that are "cooped up".
TIFWIW. No immediate plans to commit.

Seems to me that the "we have more fun" recruiting pitch that schools are using against Saban is the best excuse they got. Imo the national brand he has established prevents these so called "misses" from actually mattering

Clemson’s pitch is pretty strong right now.. I can see why they are cleaning up. “ we have more fun, and still win by 4 touchdowns” We need to get back and beat them in the worst way.

Surge BOL has a story on Fleming which seems very positive. Can you give us the inside on it?

Fleming had a great time.. Him and coach Wiggins have built a great relationship and he likes him a lot. He is building relationships with the current team and him and Eddie Smith hit it off. He was his host.

Fleming also said " “I went again to just feel it out and I loved it,” Fleming said. “I didn’t even wanna leave today when it came down to it.”

Sorry, I've been swamped. Thanks to Bo -- he did a great job of posting the article's nuggets.
