I can summarize in five words: they aren’t going to win.

You and I have a very different goal regarding Duke. You just want to win. I want to learn as much as possible about the Crimson Tide, and that necessitates learning about Duke.

If I just wanted Alabama to "win" each game, I'd get bored and find another hobby to replace this one.

Not bad. 71% of their production returning to a top 45 defense. Including almost all of the secondary. If only Daniel Jones was coming back

Also these team previews are good stuff. Thanks for posting

Well, you aren't going to learn shite about us against Duke.

And if you think you are, you and I have very different memories of previous relationships between performance against undermatched opponents and it's relativity and application to future performance against more equal competition.

As Bill points out, almost his only consistently good trait was 3rd and medium. And that can easily be attributed to Cut's elite level route trees and usage in those situations.

I like watching Duke and I love Cut. This game should never have happened and the CFA folks should be ashamed they stuck us in this situation. Bottom line.

Duke is a pretty good football team. They're certainly better than the rest of our OOC opponents, Tenn, Arky, and Ole Miss, which puts them in the top half of our schedule. I think there's a lot to learn from this game.

Do y’all think Cut will ever get a shot at a better program? He was fairly good at Ole Miss, and I think what he’s done at Duke is remarkable.

Bit of an oversimplification. Chances are he’s way better than the guy they’ll trot out against Bama and that Duke would be a significantly better team had he stayed

Cutcliff is an older fella who's happy at Duke. It'll be his last stop.

We did the same thing against WV and could have easily lost that game.

not sure if true but I read he was at least considered by UT and he declined the opportunity before anything further

No because Daniel Jones isn’t way better than anybody. We’re talking about a guy who couldn’t even complete 60% of his passes even though he didn’t throw the ball down the field often (under 11 yards per completion).

He was 81st in the country in yards per pass attempt.

I think Quentin Harris can play too. He’s not very accurate on shorter routes, but he can throw the deep ball and is a good runner.
