when Hootie Jones sustained partial MCL tear against Auburn? Some are saying it was a dirty play and I would like to see it myself.
TIA

I dont know about dirty, but i will say this, in a league so focused on getting rid of unnecessary injuries, the fact that you can dive at their knees to take them out is pretty fricked up. He should have to block him straight on.

You have to protect yourself and Hootie didn't. Bama does some cutting of their own. #27 for the barn is nothing more than a smaller pulling guard on every down and they use him well.

Not always easy protecting yourself when someone goes bitch mode on you.

It's certainly no fault of the Auburn player. You could say that cut blocking in general is dirty, but every team does it.

The Auburn player even checked on Hootie once the staff was helping him up. Just part of the game and didn't seem intentional at all.

Don't blame Cox for that. It's a normal football play. Should it be? That can be argued, but it is, and everyone does it.

Like someone said above Cox even came over to check on Hootie after. Class move.

If they cared about played health they would make a rule where you can't intentionally leave your feet for a block within 5 yards of the los

Refresh my memory but didn't we get called for a cut block sometime during the game? It was called a clip and I think it was on our LT. Can't clip if your head is out in front.

You also get a call for ripping off the QB's helmet that never happened.

That play was nearly identical to the one in the OM game where the TE hurt Hand.

Jonah Williams got called for a clip. However, tackled a defender from behind.

It looked like a good block at game speed and there never was a replay

Yes there was. He either hit him from behind or directly from the side.

I'll have to look for it. I still think bad call but that's how it goes.

Now THERE you are wrong. Even the announce team said bad call. I saw that replay and heard the analysis.

It was weak, but it was still a dumb move by him.
