After a few years away, Dixieland Delight will be back Saturday night in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The song, taken out of rotation after the alternate lyrics became the primary, will play again during the 6 p.m. CT Saturday homecoming game with Missouri. Alabama AD Greg Byrne announced the decision Wednesday evening in a video featuring Terry Saban and Damien Harris.

Harris, Saban and Byrne made the plea to "keep it clean" when the country song by the band Alabama returns.

"We're going to do our part here and try this one more time," Byrne said. "So, we need you to do yours."

I’ve given Byrne a lot of hell but I applaud him for listening and trying. I get why they got rid of it. People act like the F word is no big deal
and I personally don’t care, but I totally understand why someone would object to a chant that had the F-word after every other line.

The experiment will probably fail but I hope it doesn’t. The atmosphere was 100x better when Dixieland Delight was in it’s prime.

That'll last one chorus. Maybe.

A football game was never supposed to be a garden party safe for 4 year olds and Sunday School teachers.

People are supposed to yell, drink, and cuss at a football game.

We need to stop trying to f'ing sanitize the world.

What's that saying in The Dark Knight?

Yeah, well I'm taking my 4 and 7 year old for their only game all year this weekend and I'm hoping at the very least it is a muffled version.

You can act like 20K people screaming "fvck" in unison over and over is not a big deal or is commonplace but it isn't.

As long as it isn't 2014 Auburn level bad my guess is it'll all be fine.

Yeah I hate when people act like banning the song because of frick in the chant is a part of some excessive pc culture or something.

Not wanting people to scream frick over and over doesn't make you a part of some pussified culture like people act.

Yeah the students need to play it decent until the Auburn game, & then blow it up.

When it's banned, at least they would have gotten a good ole FU Auburn in.

The word "Dixie" is worse than the F-word in this climate.

Bad idea.
