They dominated the game and the late scores were garbage time.

We're the best team in the best conference and hit the ground running on the road against an SEC foe.

Today was a good day.

2 HUGE positives, no significant injuries on either side of the ball & Mac played exceptionally well.

It was there when the pure 1st team was in. Made some great plays we wouldn’t have sniffed last year. I’m happy especially for game 1. They will only get better.

Battle needs to toughen up and hit somebody in the mouth. Kid has all the tools but played tentative tonight. I’m hoping the arm tackling was a product of 1st game jitters.

I thought the D n 2nd half kind of summed up what was wrong last year... subbed in the outside guys (16, 1) and the middle (42, 35) and all of a sudden D couldnt stop anything and seemed to have lost focus... Maybe this a CPG thing or just the fact that the backup plan is not very good. I hope that Kennedy, Smith, Bratton, Robinson can be coached up and get ready soon.. (yes I remember where they were on the DC) wondering where Josh was? his knowledge may have been a great help for 35?

I just want a first-team unit that competes and plays physical. We were more aggressive getting to the QB. I suppose my biggest concern was simple not wrapping up a number of times when we had our hands on them. That was a last season issue we still need to get solved.

The way the rules are today in cfb it’s really set up to favor the fast paced offense.

That being said... i was pleased how the Def played. I see a lot of speed on the 1st string. LB are making the plays and that’s the Saban way. The backend is young but very talented.

Anderson is going to be a force and combined with Moses & Harris I see a great Def in the making.

Boz told me there were a lot of requests, WilliamTaylor21 was in disguise, and our board admin team didn't peruse his posting history before approving his request. Iow, he snuck in. He gone now.

I watched the game again and I have to agree with Boz. I initially thought defense was the same from last year, until Boz pointed something out to me, so i watched again and yeah, Defense was on point in first half. I just had PSTD from 2nd half.

My assessment stands firm. 92 and 3 attempted to make arm tackles instead of trying to destroy the opponent. They are starters and need to be more aggressive.
