Absolutely ridiculous. I realize there are a lot of great candidates and DT will make it in eventually but by any reasonable measure he should have gotten in already

Yeah, I'm pissed and letting people know about it on twitter.

They voted in Bruschi who tied DT's record, but DT can't get in. Really PISSED!

At least they didn't vote in the Boz. If he gets in before DT I'm gonna be pissed

DT is long overdue for induction. This is like how Cris Carter kept getting subbed for the NFLHOF.

The only thing I can think is the fact that Bama has had several inductees the last few years hurt DT. Supposedly that was the hold up with Tommy Fraziet too

I'm sure the fact that TB is an analyst for ESPN had nothing to do with his relatively quick inclusion into the CFHOF.

DT was also a Lombardi finalist and 10th in the heisman vote in 1988.

a unanimous all-america choice in 1988, thomas also won the Butkus award, CBS’s Defensive Player of the year and the Washington Pigskin Club’s Defensive Player of the year award. nicknamed “Sackman”, he was voted Defensive Player of the Decade for the 1980s and was later selected to the tide’s team of the Century. thomas was named national Player of the Week after his performances against Kentucky and Penn State in 1988. he served as defensive captain for the 1988 team, posting an incredible 27 sacks that season after shattering the school record with 18 in 1987. he finished 10th in the heisman trophy balloting in 1988. he was named nFl rookie of the year in 1989 while playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Seen some tweets from people that think his "post-football record as a citizen" may hurt DT.

DT died while still an active NFL player. DT also won a few Humanitarian awards.

DT won Byron “Whizzer” White Humanitarian Award (1995). LINK The "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year Award honors work in the community for the NFL player who best served his team, community, and country.

DT also won the NFL Man of the Year (1993) now called the Walter Peyton NFL Man of the Year Award. LINK The Payton NFL Man of the Year award honors a player's volunteer and charity work, as well as his excellence on the field.

While with the Chiefs, Thomas started an inner-city reading program with his Third and Long Foundation. As part of the literacy program, he read to children at local libraries each home Saturday during the season.

He did have several kids by different mothers, but that is his personal life and he isn't the only one. Lots of NFL players have several kids by different mothers and some have kids by girlfriends. It's not unusual to have kids out of wedlock these days.
