I mean no one is asking him to be JK Scott. Just kick the shite out of it and let our gunners do the rest. If 40-45 yards is the best he can do then we’ll take it. 33 yards though? Completely unacceptable.

This. Something happens when he gets in front of fans. Has to be the worst case of stage fright that I've ever seen.

who recruited this guy I mean really couldnt we get a walkon

The crazy part is he was rated a 3 star coming out of highschool, which is really good for a punter. Supposedly the #4 punter in the country.

No idea what the frick happened.

Hopefully, Reichard will be back next week and handle the punting, field goals and extra points.

Let JB continue to handle the kickoffs.

If he's THAT BAD, how bad are the
Others behind him? Not taking his defense, but damn surely someone
Can do better.

I’m not kidding when I say that my 11 year old nephew can punt it 30 yards in his backyard.
You DO realize that the 33 yd avg. doesn't include the 15 yds. behind the LOS he's standing, right?

As has been explained ad nauseum, DeShort looks good in practice, better than the others we have. But turn on the lights and he freaks out.

I heard somewhere, he gets in the game and starts rushing and overextends his step before his kick. That removes his power and he can't drive his foot through the ball when he hits it. Makes sense. They've worked with him on shortening his step and it works in practice, then come game time he brain farts right back into shitty.

He's had enough time to work through this. It's time to move on. We can't afford to lose yardage on every punt exchange. 33 yards isn't even acceptable by high school standards. Saban should have seen enough; try someone else.

Hopefully Nick hurt the little boyz feeling enough that he will pack his shite and hit the road. Delong has no business being on scholly at the Bama.

Do you guys remember his HS videos. They were crazy good. It doesn’t make sense. Did his leg just lose it?

Why are we not asking Bernier to kick,he is back on the squad. He kicked last year.
He'll get us 38. Delong is scared out of his mind. I mean we don't want to have a death by punting anxiety on the field.

Our horrible kicker and punter are going to wind up costing us in one of the big games coming up.

I’m tired of Bama recruiting all of these highly ranked kickers. It’s not working. To hell with that, just go find an in state kid that can consistently boot it 40 yards and be done with it. We don’t need a superstar kicker, we just need solid. And every one of these highly touted guys outside of JK have had problems. I’ll take Joe Average right now all day every day.

I stumbled across this today. We averaged 40.8 yards per punt in the 1926 Rose Bowl. Alabama is worse at punting the football now than we were nearly 100 years ago.

First, I mean no ill will toward a kid doing his best. It isn't coming up short if that is all he has between his mental and physical capabilities... so good on him. Thanks, for stepping up. Obviously, we have no one better or they'd be playing.

That said, what a waste of a perfectly good punter name.

With Reichard out and Bulovas a constant ? At anything from the XP mark out, I think we leverage skyler's talent and punt away anytime we are at a decision pt with the ball on the 33 to 43 yd line. Consistently drop it inside the 10 with a max boot
