I don't think it is a good sign that they have not released Carl's prognosis yet. When our football players have knee injuries they're on the operating table by Monday.

Maybe that means its a good sign?
I'm just hoping he's back for conference play.

Bingo, thats what I'm thinking. Same thing happened to me when I tore my ACL. Doctors told me I was fine because of what they saw of the ACL it looked good. Two weeks later after playing limited minutes in 2 more games a doctor calls me in after he sees something at second glance. They do another scan and found out that it was torn and stretched out pretty bad. shite doctors and shite luck for me, but most doctors won't clear anyone until they are 100% sure nothing is torn. My guess is they are just waiting until they can get a clearer scan of it, just to be 100% sure everything is good.
