Dabo=ACC=Duke just needs to shut

freaking up. Since we are playing the mighty ACC, I just hope our guys are ready and go out there and kick their freaking buts. I guarantee Duke will be fired up for the game. Tired of hearing Dabo run his mouth. Just shut them up on the field. And I hope Tamu is ready for "Little ole Clemson", since they are part the SEC teams that Dabo says are the no good-overrated soft SEC.

Dabo knows better than anyone that the ACC is garbage. It’s all about narrative pushing

I hear you and support your anger against Dabo and Co., but Alabama and Duke have a long history of respect and helping each other out. And so, while I hope Bama performs exceedingly well versus Duke, it won't have anything to do with Clemson - for me anyway. Duke has my respect and will continue to.
But you're right about TexAM - I'll be a big Aggie fan that day, and those 2 teams are more similar than you think.

You don't have to listen to them.

Clemson kicked our arse last season; while I don't think it was quite as bad as the score indicated, we still have to live with that score. They've beaten us twice in the last 3 seasons, so they can talk trash...
I wouldn't be so quick to root against Clemson this season. While it wouldn't bother me to see A&M beat 'em, I'd like another shot at 'em so I'm hoping they don't lose more than one game. If we happen to win the championship this year without playing 'em, then all we'll hear is, "Bama wouldn't have won if they had to face Clemson..." While I'd still take it, it'd be much sweeter to win it all while avenging last year's loss...

Interesting the media and everyone loves to use this narrative but yet we are 2-2 against CU in the last 4 seasons.

Off Topic but TideWarrior are you in Asheville or Chapel Hill?
Was in Asheville Sun & Mon and hit the New Belgium brewery tour. That place is pretty awesome. Heard Sierra Nevada is better. Have you been?

Probably because the most recent 3 are more relevant.

Live in CH now but still have our house in Asheville. Wife and I both grew up in the area and still have family. SN is really nice and the food is good. Both are good to tour and hang out.
Just south of Asheville is the Oscar Blues brewery in Brevard. Pretty nice as well. Especially good music scene.

Not following you here. The Alabama Clemson rivalry all started in 2015 and we've played every year since. Seems like looking at all 4 years as a whole is the only objective way to view the series.

So the new gold standard is 3yrs?
The recent 3 only more relevant for the narrative being pushed about CU is the new king. I guess I could understand if the 4th game being left out was a few years back but it is not and just as relevant unless to spin what is being published or talked about will only be weakened by including it.

How many players are still on each team that were even on the teams in 2015?
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that of the 40+ starters from the 2015 game, no more than 2 are still in college.
Of all the players that played, maybe less than 5 are still around?
How is that game relevant when talking about the 2019 season?

How is any game relevant prior to 2019 at this point? Even Saban says can not live on the past. Each year a different team and personality. CU lost most of their starting D. So how is what they did in January relevant today? Just saying

Dude, he is just pushing his program and conference. He is selling it quite well if you are this mad about it. That is what he gets paid to do.
Sheesh.
Sheesh.

You can make the case for familiarity with the opponent. You can't draw any firm conclusions based on previous seasons and it's certainly not predictive of what will happen this season, but it is definitely relevant in terms of it's the only thing we have to go by right now since neither team has played a game.
Isn't part of the reason many people want players to sit out a year after transferring because they will know information about the team they are leaving? You can't use that reasoning and then say the previous game isn't relevant.

absolutely, and Alabama, not Clemson, is the only team to have reached the final game all those 4 seasons.

Not really sure how any of those games are relevant for 2019, but if 2015 isn't relevant 2016 isn't either. Almost none of the contributors on either team are still around.
Watson, Renfrow, Gallman, Cain, Williams, Watkins, Boulware, Joseph, Lawrence, Bryant, Ferrell, Muse, Lamar, Wilkins all gone from Clemson.
Hurts, Scarbrough, Stewart, Harris, Jacobs, Howard, Ridley, Dieter, Anderson, Williams, Foster, Evans, Harrison, Allen, Brown, Payne, Averett, Tomlinson, Fitzpatrick, Humphrey, Holcombe, Thompson, Wilson, Hand all gone from Bama
But yea, who gives a shite. And he's right, by the way. We beat the hell out of everyone during the regular season. We didn't lose because we were beat up. That's nonsense if anyone is out there spewing that. We just got whipped.

Well hell, by that logic, the last 2 are more relevant than the last 3, and it's 1&1, and Alabama is the only team to have reached the final game those 2 years.
Discounting a redshirt year, 4 years is the span of eligibility for a college player, so when records are discussed, I think 4 years is a pretty good measure. It's 2&2 the last 4 years.

I would agree, but I think it would have been closer if we didn't have so many injuries on defense.

It's not relevant when talking about the 2019 season. Neither is the 2016 game for that matter. I don't think there's a single starter playing from that game playing in 2019. They've all graduated or gone on to the NFL.
It is, however, relevant when talking about the Bama/Clemson rivalry and who has the upperhand. It's intentionally misleading to act like Clemson has just been dominating the series by cutting it off at 3 years and acting like the 2015 National Championship is not part of it.
