With SDH and Mack Wilson out (after already losing Christian Miller and Terrell Lewis), I'm officially worried about the LB group.

By my count we are down first and second string at Sam (Miller/Lewis) and Mike (SDH/Wilson).

What does the group look like for MSU and moving forward? I know that there is hope that Miller and/or Lewis return but that seems iffy before the post-season.

Depth chart for MSU?:

Jack: Jennings, Who is next up at Jack? Chris Allen still?

Sam: Mosley? (I believe Mosley has essentially been the starter at Sam after Miller/Lewis went down), who is after him at Sam?

Mike: Holcombe? (I guess we will go with experience here now that SDH/Wilson are out), who is after Holcombe? Can Dylan Moses play here?

Will: Evans, then Holcombe? Moses?

Why does everyone seem to think Holcombe is a trash athlete?

I am actually very confident in Holcombe to fill in. We could be in MUCH worse shape at this point.

Who said he was a trash athlete? I'm looking for him to be the starting Mike LB now.

Yea my concern about Holcombe is much more calls and misplays than athleticism. We've already debunked the "he's white so he's slow" thing.

Sorry if I misunderstood, but generally when someone says we'll go with experience, there's an implication that there's a better player behind him.

In general though, it seems like there are a lot of Holcombe haters on this board even if not you.

He really does put off an Iowa/Wisconsin LB vibe with his eyeblack and collar. Very gritty.

Hahaha if he'll be a coach on the field then I'll be very happy. PLEASE PLAY TO STEREOTYPE KEITH.

I know Ben Davis has only been in the program two years but it's still disappointing he isn't contributing.

He's gonna have to at some point this season. Even if it's special teams. We're to thin to have him keep sitting.

"Gentle" Ben Davis hasn't even contributed on special teams. I don't understand.

I've heard he plans to leave. Won't put in the work to get better.

Damn. That's a shame.

Hope he turns it around. This could be his opportunity.

A lot of guys were saying you could tell in high school his work ethic wasn't that great.

You know that isn't going to cut it at any top program, but it's sad though given the talent and opportunities the kid has.

Saban said Mack Wilson is out 4-6 weeks. So if we're in the playoff he could easily be back.

Got it - I can see how you took it that way. My point was only it seems like it might be either Holcombe or Moses to play Mike and one is a RS Junior and one is a True Freshman. Holcombe is a hell of an athlete. However I will say that Dylan Moses looks to be a freak athlete so he may have a higher ceiling.

Doesn't sound like Ben Davis will even get an opportunity to play even with the injuries. Saban talked about his plans and trying to have as much experience on the field as possible. Don't think he ever mentioned Davis

I think we had #43, #40, and #18 in for the last series against LSU, for whatever that's worth.

Could you imagine our def if we hadn't had injuries to the LB core.
