Dalton is looking pretty bad. Not a big follower of the nfl so don't know all the trade rules etc. But what are the chances for McCarron to be traded to Dallas?

I’m sure he would want to be a starter, but that Dallas OL is awful.

Dalton is actually dead. The Dallas OL got him killed.

That hit was dirty a.f. targeting while he was sliding

McCarron is destined to always be the bridesmaid never the bride.
There are so many lesser QBs starting in the NFL now and throughout his career but he never seems to get the chance to start even for a few games.

He was a Burfict dirty hit and Jeremy Hill fumble away from winning the Bengals their first playoff game in forever. If they win that game I think his career goes a completely different direction.

It was awful. It was a Burfict type of hit.

If he hadn't had the preseason injury that hampered him in Buffalo...that was his best shot to win a starting job before they went all in with Allen.

But AJ has pocketed around $10 million before taxes in his career. He's had a nice ride no matter what.

He could go to Dallas if Houston traded him before the trade deadline. Highly unlikely. He's an UFA after this season. Dallas would have to give up a draft pick to have him for just a few games and their season is DOA already...and I don't think Houston would do that either.

Jeff Rutledge was a back-up for 14 years. Good gig if you can get it.

Not only that but wouldn't he be vested by now with an NFL pension? He'll surely have enough years in the league.

The pension is around $43,000 a year or so if a player played 10 years.

If a guy plays that long these days and ends up needing the pension, he managed his money horribly.

Still, that's some nice pocket change.

People often bark about college football's targeting rule and yet I keep turning to the NFL on Sundays and watching cheap shot artists like Bostic try to cripple players. That's because the punishment doesn't fit the crime. When it does, it stops.

That's good for parenting as well.

Yeah. I think the pension was more for older players before contracts became so huge for even role players. The NFL didn't want the visual of an elderly ex NFL player homeless eating cat food.
