If you're assuming or implying Bama didn't want Harris' commitment, that's not true. Bama got him on campus last weekend and pushed hard to land him.

No , I’m saying there’s only enough room for so many needs. Give A&M credit they got a heck of a player. I love Harris. Wanted him in this class. But I thought he had green light ways back , waited and then was told not yet. So maybe we feel good about someone else!

OK, gotcha. Yeah that's what I had seen. I think Cowan's dismissal led to Bama turning Harris light back to green and making a push to land him. Unfortunately ATM had an edge from the family's relationship with one of ATM's coaches.

I believe dean goes to georgia. I've listened to a few interviews and mom loooooves georgia.

But i also had emery going to georgia as well. Alot of folks believed that came out of the blue, when in fact it didn't. I listened to an interview with emery over a month ago and he all but said georgia was his leader.

Here is a tweet from Bone

Harris had a committable offer from Alabama. Some will try to spin it a different way. He was a major target for the Crimson Tide.

I’m all in for a spot to go to Lee, gives us a great athlete and better chance with Sopsher

Or maybe he (Harris)takes an official late in the year (just like Bobby Brown last year) and flips to us!!

I agree.

That's why some of us are sorta choking on sand when it comes to recruiting. Many of us live in this fantasy world that if alabama doesn't get a recruit like harris, then we must've asked him to hold off or politely told him to look elsewhere.

The assumption among some, is a guy like harris went elsewhere because we're confident in landing a better guy. When in fact, we simply whiffed or slow played to the point of losing him.

As I mentioned, Devonta Lee's and Bama's failure to try him out at ILB at a Bama camp makes no sense. But that's what happened. He came to a camp, but he just hung out instead of working out. I tried to get an explanation for that from BOL staff and insiders, but nobody gave one.

Bama needs a silent commitment to go public.

Maybe we need to take the Rashaan Evans and Dylan Moses approach on ILBs this year and go after an OLB that is better suited inside. Shane Lee is obviously huge for us

Maybe he is interested in playing at Alabama but not at the position(s) our staff wants him to play, so he's keeping the door open but isn't going to waste his time working out at a position he has zero interest in playing? That's really the only thing that would make sense other than maybe he did something a little embarrassing like spraining his foot doing something stupid and didn't want to tell the staff he couldn't work out for that reason.

You're "choking on sand" when we have the top-ranked class in the country, which has been the case for essentially the entire recruiting season? You're "choking on sand" when we're still being considered by several of the top players in the country, many of whom won't make their decision until NSD?

Whatever, man.

FSU puts finishing touches on Nakobe Dean's visit on Sunday (Noles247)
quote:

One final note on Dean, while he was generally reserved in tipping his hand on a favorite or a decision, his mother wasn't as tight-lipped. As his mother left the Moore Center at FSU to head to the car and leave town, she let her feelings be known by stating, 'If I could sign for him it would be Florida State.'

ETA: From what I've seen, Nakobe Dean hasn't said anything that indicates he's leaning toward UGA, ATM or FSU. I've not found any quotes of him speaking as highly them as he has of Bama. From what I've seen, Dean appears to feel that Bama is the best choice for him. What I've seen also indicates that (1) his parents are helping him evaluate everything except the football side and (2) it's ultimately his decision to make.

Recruiting felt so promising just a couple of weeks ago. Lots of talk about 8-9 five stars, top rated class ever, etc. Not feeling quite so awesome right now. Hopefully we can get one of our top targets to pop soon, and help us regain some momentum. If our young coaching staff is as good as advertised on the recruiting trail, we should get a public commitment very soon.

I have no idea who Humpy is whether troll or not. Definitely not an insider and seems to make assumptions more then most but regarding D Wright one of the most recent articles mentioned OSU was not recruit g him hard and has not heard from them in a while. If his HS HC has anything to do with it he will end up at UT. They seem to be out main competition.

Bama has the #1 class right now. Good Lord you can only take 25 a year guys. You can’t take literally everyone you want.

That's going to break a lot of Georgia people's hearts. That's all we heard was how much " mama loves Georgia"

He’s bringing some negative vibes to this board.
