Seems like another Plus for bringing in the UW DC... would be great to have a good coach who could also recruit his butt off.
Maybe too much to ask?

Bama better go all out on Henry To, they desperately need him at ILB. He could play a ton next year.
He is the perfect Mike LB at Bama. Something Bama missed this year with two Will LB on the inside.
Lost JJ Peterson last year when Pruitt left, can not miss on Henry To after missing on Dean.
We all saw this year what happens when Bama doesn't have an elite Mike LB. Mack and Mosses are both Will LB.

Well that's good news lol
The problem is we went form talk of "the best team ever" to a good bit going wrong in a short period of time. That's a hard pill to swallow.
Now that I've swallowed it, I have a pretty good feeling about next year. Offense will be dominant. DB's, edge rushers and defensive scheme should be much improved. I like our chances to finish on top next year.
Could be wrong - could be right. I will say, no one ever got rich short-selling Saban.

Taulia lost 50 spots after having a great year? And Tyson lost 47 spots?
Most egregious drops among the ones listed.

Rivals Rankings Week: Breaking down the QB rankings
quote:
The final prospect rankings of the 2019 class have been released and Rivals.com continues its Ranking Week with a position-by-position look at how things shook out. Here, we examine the headlines on a group of talented quarterbacks that will shape the college football landscape for the next few years.

TEAMS WITH THE BEST CLASSES: Alabama, Arizona State
Just four of the 50 quarterbacks ranked in the pro-style and dual-threat positions remain unsigned after the early period, so we can look over the final rankings and get a good sense of which programs have signed the best quarterback classes in 2019.
Five programs have multiple entries who are ranked in the pro-style or dual-threat position rankings. Georgia has four-star Dwan Mathis, but three-star John Rhys Plumlee has not signed and will take other official visits. Penn State did have two four-stars in Ta’Quan Roberson and Michael Johnson Jr., but Johnson dropped to three-stars in the latest update. Ole Miss, meanwhile, has four-star Grant Tisdale and three-star Kinkead Dent.
Alabama will be the only team with two four-star quarterbacks unless unsigned four-star Lance Legendre lands with a program that already has a four-star. The Crimson Tide would probably get the overall nod, but with Taulia Tagovailoa’s drop, neither he nor fellow Alabama signee Paul Tyson end up in the Rivals250.
The rise of Jayden Daniels, meanwhile, into Rivals100 territory coupled with another quarterback signed in three-star Joey Yellen makes Arizona State’s class a strong contender to Alabama for the overall best class of quarterbacks signed in 2019.

That talk should have been The Best Offensive Team Ever.

New Rivals250 rankings: By the numbers
quote:
The final rankings update for the 2019 class has been rolling out all week and there is plenty to breakdown. Take a look at the final Rivals250 for the 2019 class in this version of By The Numbers.

2011 - The last recruiting class with fewer than 30 five-stars
When the 2019 recruiting class entered the limelight about a year and a half ago many people believe it to be one of the weaker classes in recent memory. It turns out they were right. The 2019 class is finishing with the fewest five-stars (30) since the 2011 class (26). There have only been five classes in the Rivals.com era to finish with fewer than 30 five-stars so the 2019 class isn’t historically bad but it certainly hasn’t reached the levels of the last few recruiting classes.

93 - The number of prospects that made the final Rivals250 that weren’t in the first version
The first full version of the 2019 Rivals250 was released in August of 2017. Since then the Rivals250 and the entire class of 2019 rankings have been updated six times. After all of those updates, the final Rivals250 features 93 prospects that weren’t on the first one and the final Rivals100 has 54 prospects that were in the first Rivals100.
Between each update to the rankings, the Rivals.com analyst team is, in addition to reviewing film of thousands of college football prospects, out at camps, combines, 7-on-7 tournaments, workouts, practices, regular season games, postseason games, and all-star games evaluating as many prospects as possible and building on the previous evaluation of prospects. All of that work helped produce the final Rivals250 for the 2019 class.

14 - The number of prospects in the Rivals250 that are unsigned or uncommitted
There has been a flurry of commitments since the Early Signing Period in late December and many more are on the way but teams across the country have a significantly smaller pool of elite prospects to choose from. Only 14 players in the Rivals250 have yet to sign their National Letter of Intent or issue a verbal commitment. That means 236 players in the Rivals250 have either signed with their future team or are verbally committed.

9 - The number of teams that have at least 10 commitments in the Rivals250
Alabama holds the most commitments in the Rivals250 with 20 followed by Georgia with 13. Clemson and Texas have 12 while LSU, Michigan and Texas A&M have 11. Oklahoma and Oregon have 10 each. It is worth noting that three of the College Football Playoff teams from this season (Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma) each have at least 10 commitments from Rivals250 prospects. These nine teams hold commitments from 44 percent of the Rivals250, more than the combined total of the next 24 teams. Notre Dame, one of the four College Football Playoff teams from this season, has seven commits in the Rivals250.

21 - The number of prospects that moved up at least 40 spots in the Rivals250
This is a big number for the final rankings update and there are a few moves that need be highlighted. Texas signee Tyler Owens, Alabama signee Marcus Banks, former Mississippi State commit Charles Moore, USC signee Drake Jackson and Michigan signee Trente Jones all moved up over 100 spots in the Rivals250 while Alabama signee Jordan Battle, Ohio State signee Jameson Williams and Florida signee Tyron Hopper got bumps of at least 80 spots.
On the flip side, Wake Forest signee Nolan Groulx, LSU commit Maurice Hampton, and Clemson signee Briton Constantin all fell more than 100 spots. Oklahoma signee Jeremiah Criddell, Michigan State signee Devontae Dobbs and Alabama signee Amari Kight also fell at least 60 spots.
Also of note, there are 17 new faces in the final Rivals250, including players like Florida signee Mohamoud Diabate, Nebraska signee Bryce Benhart, USC signee Puka Nacua, South Carolina signee Cameron Smith, Virginia Tech signee Jaden Payoute and many others. Diabate is the only player new to the Rivals250 that also made the Rivals100.

Alabama freshman phenom Khurtiss Perry already has Power 5 offers
Highlights
quote:
The Latest
The state of Alabama has produced its share of top-flight football talent in recent years, with several former five-stars emerging from the Yellowhammer State. As the recruiting approach of many schools evolves, players are beginning to surface earlier and earlier during the process. A perfect example is Class of 2022 Alabama prospect Khurtiss Perry, who already has a few Power Five offers to his name despite just playing his freshman season of football. Rivals.com recently caught up with Perry to talk about his early success and what's next for him on the recruiting trail.
In His Words
"I started getting offers during the season. Mississippi State was the first one. They told my coach they liked my game and wanted to be the first ones to offer me and that was big for me. After that I got Virginia Tech. I want to make sure I get out and visit those two schools because they are the first ones to believe in me. A few other schools might offer soon. South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Texas A&M have all been showing interest so we'll see how it goes."
Rivals Reaction
After an impressive showing against older prospects at the All-American Bowl Combine in San Antonio earlier this month it wouldn't be at all shocking to see Perry continue to raise his stock and offer list during the spring and summer. He's still young but has many of the traits of an elite prospect and it shouldn't take long before schools across the Southeast take notice.

TEAM WITH THE TOP SIGNEE: Alabama
Alabama landed the top running back in the country when Trey Sanders signed with the Tide during the early signing period. That news was huge for a couple of reasons. First, Sanders’ talent is unmistakable. He’s a truly elite prospect with an almost certain NFL future. Secondly, Nick Saban and company held off a strong late push by Georgia to seal the deal with the five-star prospect, who could have an immediate impact in Tuscaloosa. Sanders is a rare talent and should shine in the SEC from the jump.

Saban and Banks are expected to visit 4-star OT and Texas commit Javonne Shepherd in home on Thursday. UGA OL coach Sam Pittman is visiting Shepherd in-home today. He has a UGA OV set for this coming weekend a Bama OV tentatively set for next weekend, Jan. 25-27.
