It's probably pretty safe to assume that other schools DO reach out to Clemson staff members.

It's just that Dabo's Cult of God-Botherers is hard to pull from.

Dabo is probably a whole hell of a lot easier to work for. Guys want to work for Saban because it is a stepping stone. It's not because they like him.

Some do like him, but they also are the one's who go get good jobs or get old, Pruitt, Smart before he turned into an ass, Burns.

Dan Enos leaving Alabama for ACC school

Alabama is losing the coach that was set to take over as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator.

Miami has hired Dan Enos as its offensive coordinator, per sources.

Georgia was also interested in Enos, who earned rave reviews as Alabama’s quarterbacks coach last season in his first year with the Tide.

It’s a significant and unexpected loss for Alabama. Enos, a former head coach at Central Michigan, was expected to be promoted to offensive coordinator if he had remained with the Tide, according to sources.

“I think Dan has done a really good job with our guys,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said during the season. “I think the biggest thing is the preparation and preparation that whatever the play is, whatever the call is, that the quarterbacks have a very clearly defined read of what their expectation is on that play and that they don’t pre-determine things before the snap and they develop confidence in going through that read progression. So you’re getting the ball in the right place at the right time. Our guys have done a pretty good job of that, but I think Dan has really helped them understand exactly what the expectation is on every play. And that comes through really good teaching and preparation through the course of the week.”

Miami names Dan Enos new offensive coordinator

Alabama quarterbacks coach Dan Enos will be Miami’s new offensive coordinator, UM coach Manny Diaz announced Friday. He spent just one season with the Crimson Tide and helped the team finish 14-1.

With Enos’ departure, Alabama will have to replace at least four of its full-time assistants from 2018. Offensive coordinator Mike Locksley is already Maryland’s new head coach. Offensive line coach Brent Key is headed to Georgia Tech for the same role. And co-offensive coordinator Josh Gattis is now the offensive coordinator at Michigan.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join a program as rich in tradition as the University of Miami,” Enos said in the news release. “Coach Diaz has a clear vision for this program as we move forward and it’s an honor to help build the Hurricanes in his image. This was an opportunity I felt I couldn’t pass up.

“I also want to express my sincere appreciation to Nick Saban and the Alabama program for giving me the opportunity to coach there this past season. I learned so much during my time there and I will always be grateful.”

Enos originally received a three-year deal with Alabama. He received $200,000 for the 2018 season. That number was supposed to increase to $250,000 in 2019 and $875,000 in 2020.

While with the Crimson Tide, Enos worked directly with quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts and Mac Jones. Tagovailoa won the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year, in addition to being the Heisman Trophy runner-up. He completed 245 of his 355 (69 percent) for program-high 3,966 yards and 43 touchdowns.

Alabama finished the season with the No. 6 passing offense in the nation. It averaged 323.6 yards through the air per game. It scored a nation-high 52 passing touchdowns.

“Dan was my primary target for our offensive coordinator position from the outset and I’m thrilled that he’s now a Miami Hurricane,” Diaz said in the news release. “Dan is one of the most innovative play-callers in college football and he not only has a remarkable track record of coaching quarterbacks, but also developing players for the NFL at numerous positions. His experience as a head coach will also provide invaluable insight to our entire program.”

Before Alabama, Enos spent the last three seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arkansas. Enos was briefly hired to be wide receivers coach at Michigan after the 2017 season, but didn’t coach a game for the Wolverines.

Arkansas’ offense was second in the conference in scoring and yards in 2015, averaging 35.9 points and 465.5 yards per game. The Razorbacks fell to eighth in the conference in yards and offense in 2016, then were eighth in scoring and ninth in yardage in 2017. Arkansas reached bowl games in Enos’ first two seasons before falling to 4-8 this season.

Enos was head coach at Central Michigan from 2010-2014. He went 26-36 in those five seasons with two bowl games.

Enos began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Michigan State under George Perles. He worked there from 1991-93. Enos was a quarterback at Michigan State from 1987-91. Saban was defensive coordinator for the Spartans in 1987, Enos’ freshman season.

He spent most of his early coaching career in the upper midwest and Great Lakes region. His first full-time coaching position was at Division III Lakeland University in Wisconsin, where he was offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach in 1994-95. He moved on to Division II Northern Michigan in 1996, where he was offensive coordinator and running backs coach. He was quarterbacks coach and receivers at FCS Southern Illinois in 1997-98. He was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at FCS Missouri State in 1999.

His first FBS coaching job came at Western Michigan, where he was quarterbacks coach from 2000-02. After a year at Division II North Dakota State in 2003, he joined Mark Dantonio’s staff at Cincinnati.

He spent 2004 and 2005 there before returning to Michigan State as quarterbacks coach in 2006. Dantonio kept Enos on as running backs coach from 2007-09 when he arrived a year later.

Miami will be Enos’ 12th school.

re: Class of 2019 Recruiting MEGATHREAD: Composite Score is up to 318.36 Edition
I was impressed with the turn around in Jalen's passing this year and just have to attribute that to Enos. But, now Bama must find a QB coach (this seemed to be working great in 2018); a new OC; an OL coach; and a WR coach. Time to crank up the check book and find some new blood.

Anyone have the number for Liberty U in Lynchburg, Va?

Does Bama have any analysts on board who could be available to coach any of these positions? If not, seems like they may have missed the boat on these this past year.

Would imagine that Enos or Gattis may have staff favorites they may want to take along with them? But, with the recruiting calendar operating on a year round basis, need to get the new guys soon and make sure the Analyst positions are well staffed as well.

In Saban We Trust!!!... Hang in there Coach.
We will see you at the A-Day Game.

They seem to be wanting one badly . I guess with Forristall , Billingsley, and Tennison , Tennison is the only one built to be a blocking type TE we have right now unless I am missing someone . Not sure about status of James which could be telling

I mean, I hope it wasn't a surprise. I think most of us knew halfway through the season that Irv was giving himself a chance with the year he was having.

Agreed, I'm really hoping that this isn't leading up to James transferring because of his suspension or something though.
