Alabama still doesn’t have a quarterback in its 2018 class, but don’t expect Florida quarterback commit Matt Corral to be that guy.

Yes, Corral’s visit went well, but a source close to Alabama told SEC Country that the Gators’ QB commit appears to be locked in with his pledge to Florida and likely won’t flip to the Crimson Tide, even if he was presented the chance to do so.

I'm not too disappointed, seems like they passed before he committed to UF.

Didn't know if anything had changed with him taking the OV...

Realtors can really be a POS if you get a bad one .We got screwed by ours and he was supposed to be a friend and after my parents bought their house in Prattville they found a hole in the back yard and found out the previous owner had filled in a swimming pool and the realtor never said a word. Her initials were C L.

I wouldn’t watch it all. You’ll leave there feeling way too good about your football knowledge questioning why you aren’t on staff somewhere since these two ignoramuses get paid for that content.

Major flip target has Alabama official visit set

Josh Jobe, a 4-star cornerback from Cheshire (Conn.) Academy, told SEC Country that he will take an official visit to Alabama on Dec. 15. The Crimson Tide will host several visitors that weekend as it’s the final weekend before the early signing period begins on Dec. 20. In addition to Jobe, 4-star defensive tackle Caleb Tremblay, 4-star cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart and 3-star defensive tackle Casey Rogers will all be in town.

Jobe, who has been committed to Miami since June 2015, also told SEC Country that Alabama is the only school he’s considering outside of Miami. That means Michigan, a school Jobe was high on this past summer in an interview with us back in Oregon at The Opening, isn’t being considered any longer.

The Army All-American will not sign his letter of intent during the early signing period and doesn’t know when he’s going to either flip to Alabama or lock in his commitment with the Hurricanes. The original plan was to announce a final decision during the Army Bowl in January, but he now says he doesn’t know if that will happen.

From what I’ve been told, Alabama feels very good with where it stands with Jobe. Despite Miami’s success on the field this season, one source close to the Tide told SEC Country that the team is confident that it will flip him from the Hurricanes.

The Tide will sign at least four defensive backs this class. My prediction on who the team will get remains the same from earlier this month: Jobe and 4-star prospects Jalyn Armour-Davis, Nadab Joseph and Saivion Smith

How Texas A&M parting ways with Kevin Sumlin affects Alabama

The Houston Chronicle reported on Tuesday night that Texas A&M will fire head coach Kevin Sumlin at some point after the Aggies’ game against LSU this weekend. The news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The rumors have been out there for months that this was looking like Sumlin’s final year in College Station.

Any time there’s a coaching change, recruiting is affected. Lots of times, schools that lose a coach suffer multiple de-commitments and major targets tend to look elsewhere.

Alabama has three major targets who are connected with the Aggies. We’ll start with the one who’s currently committed to TAMU.

Bobby Brown, a 4-star defensive tackle from Lamar High School (Arlington, Texas), committed to Texas A&M over Alabama in October. The Crimson Tide staff thought it was going to land Brown’s commitment, but then the Tide’s No. 1 DT target at the time decided to move up his decision date unexpectedly. Brown decided that he wanted to remain closer to home, and that’s why he chose the Aggies. It was a giant blow to the Tide because Brown had been the team’s top target since the summer and the team was confident he was going to commit there.

It remains unclear how, and if at all, Sumlin’s departure would affect Brown. He hasn’t commented on the situation yet, but Alabama will certainly try to capitalize on the situation.

One of the Tide’s current commitments, 3-star linebacker Vernon Jackson, has taken multiple visits to Texas A&M and continues to listen to the school’s recruiting pitch. Jackson may see his spot become taken because the team has several linebacker targets it feels good about landing such as 4-star prospects JJ Peterson, Brandon Kaho and Eyabi Anoma. If Jackson, who’s considered a project because he actually plays quarterback and safety for his high school and has no experience at linebacker, wants to take visits elsewhere, the Tide may just end up replacing him. I think if he doesn’t end up with Alabama, Texas A&M and TCU would be potential new landing spots.

Jaylen Waddle, a 4-star wide receiver from Episcopal High School (Bellaire, Texas), is Alabama’s top slot wide receiver target. He has been labeled as such since the summer, when he put on a show for the coaching staff at one of the team’s camp sessions.

There was a point when Texas A&M was considered the favorite to land Waddle’s commitment. The Aggies are pitching him to be the team’s next Christian Kirk. While Waddle is still considering the Aggies, they have definitely fallen out of major contention for him. It’s a two-team race for Waddle’s commitment with Alabama and Oregon fighting it out. I have supreme confidence that Waddle will be in crimson in 2018.

I truly feel like this year we need to win a NC in regards to our recruiting. I think we could flip a couple guys just because of it.
