I don't see an above-average arm (at least by P5 standards), and I see solid athleticism but again, nothing that is going to stand out at an SEC level. I agree on your fourth point.
He's not a kid who will push for a starting job immediately, but he could be a really good starter for us one season down the road.
I certainly like him more than Mac Jones.

I know you guys love this guy.
He's definitely behind the top tier guys in this class, but he is by far the best out of the guys who haven't signed.
As I said on the previous page, I'm excited about landing him.

We got CBs for Brock Purdy from an Auburn and LSU mod.
The same Auburn mod just CB'd James "The Prattville Slayer" Foster to LSU.

Just watched a video where an 247 analyst said he doesn't know why Brock isn't rated high lol. Said he lit it up at all the camps he has seen. Well what the hell do you rate the kids on.

He's not 6'4".
Recruiting sites are notoriously stubborn when it comes to measurables.

True but it didn't stop them with guys like Arron Murray and Tate Martell I believe. Is what it is tho. Hope we get him.

I just saw that too. Kid had a hell of a game against Boise St. I sure wish someone could have helped him out.

Arm strength looks like a question, but the guy is VERY accurate with the football. Best trait in a quarterback is throwing accuracy.
Chad Pennington spent ten seasons in the NFL with an honest-to-god noodle for an arm, but retired with the highest completion percentage (at the time) of any QB.

He will end up transferring.
He's not a kid with a bunch of D1 offers, and isn't going to play at the next level. He might very well just be happy to hold a clipboard, play a little bit, party a lot, impress the sorority girls with a flashy championship ring, and get on with his life after four years.

Chad Pennington had a noodle arm after he shredded his rotator cuff. Not before. Incredibly accurate and smart though.
Palmer and Pennington are two fantastic QB What Ifs due to injuries

The rotator cuff was after his fourth season. He got in six more years and two 3,600+ yard seasons while throwing like my granny.
ETA - Granny was awesome, but also had a noodle arm.

Alabama extends offer to Arizona QB Brock Purdy (includes senior highlights video)
quote:
Alabama is still searching for its Class of 2018 quarterback, and the Crimson Tide made a significant offer Tuesday night.
Brock Purdy, a 3-star prospect from Perry High School (Gilbert, Ariz.), already had a preferred walk-on offer from the Tide, but Alabama went ahead and offered him a full-ride scholarship. SEC Country first alerted you to Alabama’s interest in Purdy over a week ago as a possible quarterback target.
The 6-foot-1, 197-pound prospect led his school to the state championship while throwing for 57 touchdown passes and 4,410 passing yards. He also rushed for 1,016 yards and had 10 touchdowns. Purdy was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Arizona.
New Alabama assistant Jeff Banks visited Purdy and his family on Monday.
Purdy will take an official visit to Tuscaloosa next weekend. Arizona quarterback commit Jamarye Joiner was expected to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa on Feb. 2, but he announced his recruitment was shut down Tuesday night. The Tide are also recruiting 4-star prospect James Foster, who is from Montgomery, Ala. Foster is still being evaluated at this time, though.

He was the backup this year but started the bowl game because their QB was hurt. I'd think in line to start next season. Very sad situation.
