PFF had a write up too
Georgia's defense dominated in Week 7, and Alabama still scored 41 points
PFF also predicted Alabama would route UGA

Imagine if this is the absolute best defensive performance Bama faces all year. Decent improvement by our defense would make this team deadly
Also from the PFF article. This is one of the Defensive Holding calls people are bitching about Twitter
It’s absolutely blatant

Saved a TD. That would have dropped in the basket. Waddle would have been gone.

I have all the confidence in the world in our offense. The question is, when we get into the playoffs and play a team that could potentially be more balanced, like Clemson or Ohio State, can we overcome our defense?

Their DBs were so mentally shellshocked in the 2nd half they just started instinctively grabbing us out of almost every cut.

By no means am I an analytics experts but CFBNerds guys talking about "breaking points" have me thinking that their is a point of diminishing returns for great defensive play when 2 mega powered offenses play eachother. Obviously you dont want to walk into the Playoffs with an Oklahoma defense but it seems like certain offenses can score 40+ on anybody. In that sense the difference between playing Ohio State or Clemson when you have a top-20 defense instead of a top-5 seems to not matter as much as it used to

They said that no defense is going to hold us (or any elite offense) under 40 if we go all out trying to score for 60 minutes, and UGA actually played really, really well.

Well that's how Kirby teaches his db's to do. He figures that they won't call a hold or pi on every play,so he has them playing really agressive.

They're right - UGA made us work for everything. Nothing was easy. We're just exceptionally diverse, talented and precise.
It was very similar to their game with LSU last year.

They really didn't make any coverage mistakes and they were solid in run defense. No one is slowing our passing game down without Mac having an off day though. We pass block well and, as the PFF article observed, your choices are to defend the deep middle or the deep boundary. You can't do both.

Yep - the pass blocking is otherworldly, and so Mac generally gets time to dissect things. If you blitz, Najee stones it with the OL and we have 1 on 1s. If you sit back and don't blitz, Mac has all day to hit our 3 WRs and/or Najee. And on top of that, we pop you with a run or some Sark devil play off-speed motion.
I didn't think I'd ever look at 2018 as being meh, but 2018's 4 plays out of RPO was meh compared to what we do now.

Love those guys. Really good insight.

The screen to Waddle early in the game was designed beautifully. It was set up to look like the inside receiver was going to get the pass (how typical receiver screens are run), Waddle fakes a block for a count, then breaks to catch the pass. I nearly cried.

It was one of the most perfect, beautifully designed play calls I've ever seen Alabam run. I mean it didn't end in a TD or even a huge play, but it was just absolutely gorgeous. Right up there with the Mac to Peek TD in the 2009 SECCG.

We are going to complete a 20-25 yard TD pass to Forristall later this season off of a play fake on that sweep Smitty scored on against OM. And it will be beautiful.

The trust level that Sark puts in Mac to read those plays and make the right decisions is so high, too. Those complex plays that piggyback on other plays only work if your QB sees the whole field and makes the right decision on whether it is there or not, and if not, what the next option is.
Our ability to do all that stuff is because we are elite at 4 different spots (pass blocking, WR, QB, and RB). It's truly an all-time group on offense.

I like how somehow waddle hasn't graded well once this year according to pff. Man imagine if waddle was actually good...

One of my favorite all time Bama plays since Saban has been here. The real back breaker for Florida’s defense.

I genuinely don't think clemson measures up at all to past defenses when I just see some of the players they have out there. Theyre getting some good results against some terrible offenses. But im confident we score 40 plus against them. Now the idea of tackling etienne or getting a scrambling lawrence down? Equally confident we can't do that lol
