Last thing I want to see is Joe Brady as HC of LSU.

Heck no. That dude is shady, goofy, and got lucky this year. No way he deserves the keys to best program in college football history after one fluke season.

Why? You have no idea if he has what it takes to run a program. Given my choice, I'd be quite pleased to see a rival hire some guy that's got virtually no experience at the college level and no HC experience at any level. The odds of it being a massive flameout are MUCH higher than the odds of it being a homerun hire.

Name me a legit coach that flamed out at a program.

Just look on Bama’s sideline. There are a ton of them.

Kevin Steele is the rage as a DC right now but was a total failure as a HC.

Remember when Chad Morris was the golden child as Clemson’s OC? Ask Arky how that worked out for them.

I could go on all night but the point should be made. Success as a coordinator in no way ensures success as a head coach.

The fact you're citing Bama's sideline as an example doesn't prove anything. A great coach has it or not. Joe Brady has it. You can look a gift horse in the mouth and let somebody else steal him away then wondering why you end you with Dennis Franchione as HC.

You asked me to list great coaches that flamed out. I listed successful coordinators that failed as head coaches. Sorry you don’t like facts.

Coach O never had the micro phone to his mouth during the game .. either he isn’t really running the team or they couldn’t understand him either way

Since you're so smart, tell me who are the up and coming coaches in cfb.

This isn't about the 'up and coming' coaches in cfb. It's about the huge risk (and the irrational fear of a rival) associated with hiring an assistant coach as the head man after one successful season.

Any hire is a risk, and the most historic programs hire assistants to be their HCs all the time. Last night was proof of it.

Ed Orgeron is just smart enough to know he doesn’t know dick about being a hands on football coach except on the DL. So he learned from his Ole Miss disaster and hired good people and stays the hell out of their way. He goes around cheerleading and giving good sound bites in between “Go Tigas!” and that’s the extent of his job.

No freaking thank you. That coonass is exactly where he should be and he’ll be back to 8-9 wins next year.

I would honestly rather have Chizik than Eaux.
