Saban on Latu and Billingsley...
quote:

“I think that we’ve always been, all the years we’ve been here, we’ve done what our players can do. When we had great wideouts, we played three wideouts more. When we had really good tight ends, we had tight ends in the game. And I think Latu certainly had an outstanding spring, had a drop or two today, but he made some really good catches and he’s made some good catches throughout the spring. Jahleel is a very talented player who can make plays. So to use those guys relative to what they can do and how they can help us offensively I think is what we always wanna try to do -- assess what players that we have and what can we do to help those players be most successful in terms of how we feature them. We’ve always tried to do that on offense. I think defense -- you’ve heard me say this before -- you play a system on defense because you have to adapt to so many things, and offensively, you’re always trying to adapt the system, which we have a lot of versatility in our system, to feature the players that we have. And certainly these two tight ends are guys that have shown a lot of promise this spring.”

Latu's shake move on the long TD was special - can't coach that stuff.

I was lead to believe football speed and 40x’s are two different things. But I never played at that level.

Latu is a talented athlete. He was a highly recruited athlete out of high school. I remember remarking about how he looked the part when he was playing on special teams a couple of years ago. Now he's progressed as a tight end and should be an asset. Billingsley is a stud. Both will be a big part of this offense as the new receivers gel.

He's an interesting player too. I thought he was some huge walk on at first. He's a big fricker for a freshman.

Eta: it's spelled Ouzts and I can't find any recent photos of him.

Maybe i need to look again but he loomed kind of small to me well height wise.

When I saw 45 I had to look him up. He looked like an oversized fullback. I was excited to see him.

Couldn’t believe Latu ran away from Hellams either. Dude is fast for a big man. Excited to see our TEs this year!

You can easily tell that Robbie Ouzts is a Physical entity!!...I think he gets on the field this year in some run schemes. He is going to pound on some people before he gets out of there...He can catch it too..I have a lot of respect for Major Tennison also. And they loaded up with Kendall Randolph last year as an In-Line blocker, and I believe that will be his role this year. He is not going to be the starting RT....IMO

Having lived in Texas for five years and having to watch the Texans pretty much every Sunday, him calling the offense makes me nervous.

Good TEs completely change an offense as long as they can block too.

When they get that ILB in coverage it’s over.
