Yeah, we know. We've discussed that after Auburn game, after the championship game. Ridley had attitude problem all year long...and he didn't help at all.

I think any competitive player at WR would've had a hard time not having an attitude on the 2017 Alabama football team especially if you were trying to build a highlight reel for NFL scouts. Furthermore the quote is new, it is slow as frick and if you don't care to discuss it then there are probably other threads for you to click on.

Damn that article lays it out.....Ridley had a ton more (63) than any other receiver (14).....and Bo Scar. was the 2nd leading receiver at 17. WTF?Lawd.........all that talent didn't see the ball. Most all of the time if Ridley wasn't open he checked down to Bo.

He got all of the catches because that was the only WR Hurts would throw to.

Sounds like RIdley wasn't the only WR who wasn't happy, and for good reason.
To put it in perspective...OJ Howard was the 3rd leading receiver in 2016 with 45 catches, and yet he had as many catches as the #2, 3, and 4 receivers in 2017 combined.

That is because the staff had to simplify the offense to the point of allowing Jalen to make one read and if it wasn't there then take off. Even worse is that Calvin literally had to be wide open for him to even throw it. Of course Ridley was upset and of course the other guys probably were even more upset because they knew they weren't getting the ball.

Ridley was likely the number 1 option on any given play. Therefore, more targets= more catches.
At times, Jalen may have referred to that old adage;
Rule 1 Ridley is ALWAYS open
Rule 2 When Ridley is covered, refer to Rule 1!!!!

You could make the argument, based on the numbers, that Hurts actually significantly digressed in 2017. Ridley had 72 catches in 2016, but Stewart had almost as many at 54. Combine that with Howard's catches, and clearly Hurts wasn't just locked onto Ridley all the time in 2016. You'd have to combine 4 WRs from 2017 just to equal Stewart's catches in 2016.

In a world where players stay all 4, Tua would make Ridley a Heisman candidate.

This article is miss leading. Ridley was asked if he thought it was awkward and he said, "Sometimes, yeah because some of the guys made comments, throw up the charts," Ridley said. "Everybody would have like five catches and I had like 50. It's just kinda weird. I wish we all had the same amount but we won the championship. And everybody was happy."
Crappy bait job by the writer. I've come to expect nothing less these days though. All these damn writers are always trying to create a story instead of reporting it. Dan Patrick has had a couple of nice rants about it.

This is what killed us in the Iron Bowl. AU was all over Ridley to the point where they got two PI calls giving up 15 each. Better to shut down the #1 offensive threat at all costs even if it gets a penalty than give up the explosive play and they had the DB's to do it. Put pressure on Jalen, stuff the run, because couldn't see the field or get the ball distributed.

I actually agree with this. It Ridley would have just come out on his own and said it was awkward, I would put more into this story. I'm sure things were awkward/heated at times with the receivers and Hurts but no one on the team has come out publicly and said that.

I'm pretty sure you are being sarcastic so if you are this isn't directed at you.
This notion that Ridley was a problem seems far fetched to me. He's an elite WR who's QB(btw I love Jalen and am not ruling out him being our starting qb this year) missed him wide open repeatedly. Any WR worth their salt would be upset. It sounds like all of our WR were upset. One of the reason Ridley had so many more receptions is because his hands are so good he caught a lot of inaccurate passes. Sims and Foster were good recieverd not elite and didn't bring in those passes. Therefore Jalen targeted the guy who made him look better more. Once again I love Jalen to death and would hate to see him transfer because I fear we'd have to see him in the playoffs because he is that elite as an athlete at QB.

Agreed on all points data. Though I do believe the OP should've stated that Ridley didn't actually say it was awkward. It is a miss leading headline.

He was freshman all american. I am sure he had very high personal goals after that year.

In the right offense, Jalen would be hell. Auburn, Ohio St would fit him much better?

That headline is a simple cut and paste from the article.
