Bama is in process of hiring Jeff Golding from UTSA. Whether it's for DC position or on the field coaching, it's unknown at this time.

At best, he will be the CoDC. No way he comes in as the sole DC

If he's named Co-DC, then that would mean Tosh would be the Co-DC, which would make sense at this point.

My understanding to this point is Golding is an on field position coach and that Tosh still looks to be the guy.

That'd be great. I'm really worried about the defense next year (its Saban and Bama, it'll be good, but maybe not as good we we're used to) and a new DC adds some worry to that. But Golding would be a good hire.

That become part of playing aggressive defense, now. The penalty is 15 yards, so the dbs get left on an island, and are told to just grab the receiver if they get beat. The refs only call it 50pct of the time. That lets you keep 8 near the line of scrimmage. Bump and run, grab and hold defense.
