Boz and Bama3714 - based on what you have seen and been told, who are the guys that are most likely to step up and take on the Alpha Dog roles next year? By position group and by side of the ball. Who will be "The Man" as the Alpha for the entire team?

QB: Tua (not sure that is part of his personality)

RB: Jacobs (if he comes back has the Dog in him) Harris (a little quiet but may have it down there somewhere), Robinson (runs like he has it but has been quiet so far), Trey Sanders (has the vibrato but not the time yet)

WR: Ruggs, Jeudy, Smith, Waddle (all seem to be quiet at least in group dynamics)

TE: Irv Smith (appears to have it but will he stay)

OL: Leatherwood, Willis (Willis looks to be the most likely if he cuts it loose)

DL: Davis (if he stays can he step up and take the lead?) (If not him then who?)

OLB: Jennings and Lewis (I expect both of them to take the lead assuming Jennings stays)

ILB: Wilson, Moses (if Wilson stays he needs to step up if not does Moses have it in him to grab the entire defense by the balls?)

DB: Thompson (is too quiet) Diggs and Carter (look to be the best candidates)

You can't be an "alpha dog" if you can't play your own effing position well and with some consistency against good teams.

What you have Twisted is a larger group of selfish players. Some of them are leaving but from my knowledge your leaders will be

Diggs
Moses
Tua
Najee
Waddle
Wills (borderline crazy)
Lewis
Jennings (If he returns)

Can you elaborate on this?

Do you recall any conversation about the me-me-me twitter habits of a LB or questions about where kwon on the D-line had disappeared to when Q started grabbing most of the attention?

Correct nothing ever comes up when you’re winning George.

The extent of what I know is basically guys playing for draft grades and personal accomplish. Lack of motivation to help develop the younger players. I don’t want to blast our team but some of these people were in leadership positions, and that caused some serious entitlement issues.

“Chronic feelings of underappreciation. The players who suffer from the “disease of me” syndrome constantly feel that they are overlooked in praise. We all want to be patted on the back, but some individuals demand constant attention and sulk when they believe, rightly or wrongly, that their skills and efforts are being underappreciated. It leads to jealousy and bad chemistry.”

Both are Wills imo and our teams have done best when the alpha is a Mike or DL (no offense CJ)

Bama needs an ILB with some football savvy and neither 32 or 30 have that. Just two athletes chasing people around.

Sounds like we'll benefit from both the loss as lesson and some good ole addition by subtraction.

Boz, is your list taking into account certain guys leaving early or is Jacobs not leadership material? Also, sad to not see any of the other 3 starting receivers on here.

I actually think the loss will produce more success in the end even though it sucks right now.

meh... I slept like a baby after the game.

It was mentioned in another thread prior to the game, but we're playing with house money with Saban right now.

It has surpassed any realistic expectation and most people's wildest dreams.

It sucks we didnt win, but getting punched in the face like that can be cathartic for a team and fanbase growing complacent and trying to hide a championship gut.

Plus, being out of the game that early gives a head start on rationalizing the loss vs a last second heartbreaker.

Cant wait until Sept.

I would have slept like a baby if I'd slept.

It sucked, but it was definitive. They won, we lost. I mean I'm just a lame arse alum fan and I'm already more locked in and fired up about next year than I was after last year. Cant imagine what the guys who had their manhood taken feel like.
