BIG 10 decision based on erroneous data

As the paper the B1G and PAC 12 relied on to make their decision to postpone football gets examined, medical experts are calling the information faulty. Dr. Venka Murthy, Rubenfire Professor of preventive cardiology at the University of Michigan said the paper should be corrected or retracted. Professor Darrel Francis, cardiologist, from London pointed out several statistical errors and miscalculations.
In short, they made this decision based on a load of horse shite.

Go figure. They made a rapid decision based on fear.

Ohhhhh. Is that what they claim their decision was based on? :/

Is this what Cecil Hurt was retweeting last night? I couldn't understand much , if any, of it.

No way they'll reconsider now, IMO. Too political to recant. It's sad to rip away kids' livelihoods in the name of politics, but that's just what will happen.
At best, they'll move forward and try to play in January/ February range

Just saw where Iowa and Ohio St parents are joining together and sending letters to the schools about handling of the situation

Mike Wilbon and Desmond Howard telling Nebraska to "just get out" is about par for the course. A couple of Big 10ers, with a microphone, who are defending the brand. Will be interesting to see if Ohio State and Iowa also have to get out of town. What a bunch of TV buffoons.

It's been a few days & the BIG 10 still looks stupid with this knee jerk reaction decision.
They put out a season schedule 5 days prior, getting players/fans excited & hopes up, only to jerk the rug out from under them a few days later.

I hope the other conferences play in the fall and the Big 10 and PAC play in the spring. More football for everyone!

That report was just Anchor Data for their decision. They had already made the decision and just needed something to attach the decision to.

Yup. There was no way Michigan was going to play football with Whitmer as governor. Same with Washington, Oregon, and California with their respective governors.

Everyone hates Newsome and is sick of it. It's still ridiculously restrictive

It wasn’t based on anything but left wing politics. That’s it. Nothing more. Those university presidents knew they were going to cancel months ago and simply looked for any flimsy justification to hide behind.
Then they cynically float a schedule to keep their schools’ players from jumping ship knowing they were going to pull the plug. Absolutely reprehensible.

I learned a long time ago that it's not enough to tell people what to do or even offer specific advice before hearing the person out. Even if you think you have the answer, and maybe you do, still, the listener can't really be sure unless they know they've been heard in detail and feel the person with all this wise council has considered everything about the situation that they possibly could. Otherwise, even the right answer is still very much a leap of faith and may not be appreciated, even if it's the better way to go.
The B1G apparently never got that life's lesson.

It's a small item and probably just semantics, but when the hell did January and February become Spring? Especially in Big 10 country? It would be uncomfortable to play in those months in a lot of the SEC. To me, that's just another indication they are lying and have no intention of playing football this school year.

I think watching football played in snowshoes and three feet of snow would make for a good time, as long as I'm watching it from inside my house.

Well, the Birmingham Cardiologist called their decision absurd last Friday. A Dr on Finebum went on for 30 minutes about how ridiculous it was, and basically how ridiculous the US response to Covid 19 was. He said there has been so much false information out there and the Media just jumps all over anything negative.
