It clearly won't be Bama's placekicking teams.

I lean toward Bama's defense, but it very well could be FSU's defense.

As far as positional units go, I may lean towards Bama's DL or front 7 (if you want to include LBs).

A strong case could be made fro FSU's DBs.

The biggest mismatch is our DL vs their OL. So our defensive line needs to be the best unit on the field in that game.

Like most big games, this will be decided by the big uglies in the trenches. I like our DL against their OL. They'll make some plays and score some points, but our DL will make things very difficult for them.

I think the game will be decided by our OL vs their DL. If we can protect Jalen and open up some holes for our backs--we'll be ok. If they destroy our OL it's going to be tough to pull out a win. I'm really hoping Cotton and Womack are better than they were in the spring. Sounds like it, but we won't know for sure until FSU.

1. Huge advantage for Alabama.
2. Their LBs are fast, but small.
3. Agreed.

1. We many not need to pass much.
2. Please God don't let this come down to a FG battle.
3. I disagree. I think we clearly have an advantage here.

Good list though.

It's hard to find clear advantages for FSU. But, you could have said that about almost all of our games the last few years.

If Jalen improves slightly and the defense is 2015 level good.......this team is going to be terrifying as frick.

I mentioned this in the practice thread but people are seriously underestimating this Def, I'm here to tell you we have some real players on that DL, and the rest you know about already.

I suspect they will lean on Akers and the running game. Our linebackers may be the key to winning. They run a lot of play action too but I feel good about the secondary playing smart football.

If FSU leans on the run game, they will be blown out. You got to pass to beat Bama. I don't see FSU running for over 100 yards.

I feel extremely good about this game. Bama is better likely to be just as good or better than they were last year at the following positions
Qb (better)
RB (better)
Wr (better)
Ol (same, maybe better overall from experience)
Lb (same)
CB (same)
S (better)

Maybe takes a small downtown at dl, but I'm not even sure this is the case. We have some serious freaks stepping in to take over

Akers or Patrick. Bama wanted both guys, so they are pretty good. They won't have much success against the Tide D though.

Leaning on a true freshman RB and a suspect OL against what should be a typical Saban Bama run defense? Please do this FSU.

Which is why I think this game probably won't be in question going into the 4th quarter. As dominant as our run defense has been, our pass rush has been as good or better the past 2 years leading to lots of picks and quarterbacks having come to Jesus moments. No way does Fisher come out and put the game on the back of his inconsistent quarterback. Same for us, we will ride the backs of the deepest stable of runners in America and I think they are in love with Akers.

I think we'll control their offense. Pro Style, suspect O-line, etc.

However, I could totally see their defense control our offense too.

Either will be a 30-17 type win or a 23-20 type game.

FSU has a nasty back 7 on defense, but their DLine is sooo overrated. I watched our tape vs ole miss and fsu vs ole miss, and there were huge differences.
Our front 7 on defense was tremendously better, but especially in pushing the pocket. FSU was soft on the dline last year, and never got pressure on Kelly.

FSU's oline was even worse. In fact, I couldn't believe what I was seeing it was so bad. They're not underrated at all.

FSU is strong at HB, WR, QB, LB, and DB. They are straight-up soft in the trenches with skill everywhere else
