If the tourney is at Mt Brook High School, there's a Piggly Wiggly right down the hill from it that has a good craft beer selection. It's not as good as Hop City, but decent enough if you don't get time to go to Hop City.

Like spleen said, Piggly wiggly off of church Street has some good options. But yes, Hop City is where it's at.

Gonna be in Mountain Brook tomorrow for my son's soccer tournament and I want to hit up a good craft beer store while I'm there.
Who do y'all recommend?
Interested in the replies to this. The Western grocery store in Vestavia kept a great stock, but it closed several month's back.

I think this week's was an imperial sour - banana painkiller or something like that.
I didn't want to have to go that way this weekend

That's a different one than I was talking about, but a good option as well. Really all the Pigs in town have a good selection. The River Run/Liberty Park one is literally at the bottom of the hill from Mt Brook High School.

Piggly Wiggly definitely has been a great alternative to driving farther, one on Dunnavant Valley even ordered some Founder's KBS Espresso for me after talking with the manager.
I'm not sure if it's Whole Foods having a decent selection because they're Whole Foods or because they're Whole Foods in the Bham area. Prices are really a wash nowadays, paying for quality.

The Dunnavant Valley one is close to the house and is usually a good place to go and find harder to find ones because it gets less traffic. They've kinda dropped off recently though, probably because they're not moving much.
And just saw on IG that Trim Tab is already sold out of the crowlers of the banana pain killer sour. Still have it on draft.

Due to the short turnaround between games I was given a whole 10 minutes to shop at Hop City after lunch. I got what the checkout girl nicknamed the "Trim Tab Sampler."
A 4 pack each of Theory of Abundance, Dripping Gold, Cake Therapy and Suspended Moments.

I wish I could.
My kid has the Sadie Hawkins dance tonight so we have to haul arse back to Prattville so he can get ready.
Hop City had a ton of options I thought about getting, too. Oh well. There's always next time.

All of the Pig's in the area are franchised by the same guy, and I personally know the guy that got him selling craft. Funny how that works.

the one in Bluff Park (by my house) has a surprisingly good selection (Interstellar Beer out of Alabaster and others are sold in half gallon milk jugs right out of the tap)
The Pig has beer and wine tastings every week
