I made you the OC.

Wait, what? You did what, now?

I didn't realize your "as OC" and "Mr. OC" comments were actually asking me to come up with a gameplan.

What makes sense to you if G-Mac is indeed hurt?

I like how you're continuing to hang on to this belief. Add more sandbags to the lip of that foxhole, soldier! This hill could be in danger at any moment!

Well, since I believe Greg, Coach Saban, and others when they say Greg was wearing a flak jacket during that game because of two cracked ribs, and not just for spits and giggles, I'll hazard a guess at the reasoning for the game plan. I have no inside information … I'm just guessing.

I'd say Greg told the coaching staff his ribs were hunky-dory, and weren't bothering him one lick. The flak jacket and extra padding was considered a precaution, rather than something he actually needed. I'd also bet the offensive game plan was created based on that belief. After all, if Greg is telling the medical staff he feels fine, the ribs aren't bothering him, there's no reason to change things up, right?

So that's why the gameplan looked the way it did. They were operating under the assumption Greg wasn't impacted by the rib injury, and -- knowing Greg to be as competitive as he is -- I seriously doubt he was going to say anything to the contrary.

I wrote "War and Peace" on the "gameplan." So your moral of the story was being addressed specifically.

G-Mac was wearing rib protection in the Florida game. G-Mac was wearing rib protection in the Iron Bowl. G-Mac wore rib protection as a QB.

That's fine. you're certainly entitled to your conclusions. They just don't change mine. Even after a decade. So, I guess, I'll stay on this barbed wire hill a little longer.
