Boy, the coronavirus really saved Murphy from one of if not his worst season of all-time, didn't it?

They were riding shotgun on the train from preseason #1 to #3 seed in Athens Regional.

Wallace doesn't exactly strike me as the catcher type. She's too tall and rangy to be behind the plate. If she tried to block the plate, she'd get trucked and probably hurt. I think she's a great player, but not behind the plate. Murphy and his decisions really rub me the wrong way. If there's a way to frick it up, Murphy will find it, use it, and outdo himself in the process.

I agree she does not have a catcher build at all. My daughter was a catcher and not a big girl, but she grew too tall. By the end of her travel ball career at 18, she was 5'8" and 130lbs, but strong as hell.

The problem with being a tall catcher is popping up. With those long legs like Wallace and like my daughter has, is it just takes a a second longer and that could be the difference in a play.

I also read that the real problem was that she was going to be moved back to 2nd now that Jenkins is back to play SS.

I read that too today. We got that girl from Oregon who's gonna be a really good catcher for us..I think the issue was she didn't want to go back to 2nd

Hi Bamamamaof2. My wife died of cancer. But she became excited about Bama softball during their championship run. Then she got me addicted. It was something that we could share together. Now, I can't let go. Please post more softball info on this board. We need more. It still connects me. Thx.
