dunno - people will complain if we get too many night games too, especially the late late slot
Yeah, seems we had a couple of seasons in a row with 8 o'clock kickoffs and people bitched about it. That is understandable though. With all the TV timeouts, the games usually don't wrap up until well after 11.
2012 Ole Miss was an 8 kick, and I think a game in 2013 or 2014 was as well.

LSU game will be a night game.
In the CBS deal, I think 2 Saturdays during the season they get to host 2 games. As we get into the heart of the SEC schedule you have several marquee match-ups and CBS televises two games on those Saturdays.
CBS only gets one night game doubleheader. They decided to go with Georgia vs Notre Dame, which makes sense ratings wise.
The second doubleheader is an 1100/230 slot.
The LSU game is going to be at 230 unless CBS bends over backwards like they did in 2011. Very doubtful IMO.

They do, but only one game at night and they're using that this weekend for ND @ UGA. The other doubleheader is 11AM and 2:30 kickoffs. All the other SEC games that week will be at night. They haven't yet announced which week that will be.

Thoughts on so few night games?
Doesn't really bother me. I don't care what time of the day they play games in the 2nd half of the season.

Put the Alabama-LSU game at night on ABC/ESPN

Same - the only thing that sucks is playing every September game before 6 PM in 100 degrees in the sun while everybody else gets to play at least 1 of them at night.
That's it. That's the entire request.

That's not how it works. CBS bought the SEC's TV rights. ESPN and SEC network get the left overs.

The 2:30 game in the fall is easily the best game time to me, particularly after daylight savings time ends. Starting the game in the afternoon, sun going down around start of 4th quarter is perfect. Temps usually just right that time of day. Time to tailgate both before and after the game.

Yeah. Really only looking at the first ~3 games of the season. Once we get to October, it's usually cooled off enough to not be a factor.

I'm a night owl so prefer the night games. I can sleep till like 9-9:30, watch couple hrs of gameday, leave around 1 for the game, still have 3 hrs + of tailgating, watching the band play pregame & Walk of Champions, enter Bryant Denny like 30 min before kickoff & watch the Tide Roll at night.

Well then CBS needs to put the game at night

Night games always have a better game day atmosphere. Fans seem a lot louder.

Everyone has their personal preference, but I think the best kickoff time is one that isn't used much anymore - around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. Gives you plenty of time to tailgate, while also ending early enough to get home at a reasonable hour. And even in September, around 5 is when it starts cooling off a little.
But I also don't mind the 11 o'clock games every now and then, though I don't like going to them all that much.
8 o'clock kicks are the absolute worst and I hope we never have one again.

Yep.

No way CBS passes on that matchup. They chose to use their ONE primetime slot on UGA/ND. That was a smart business decision by them considering the amount of eyeballs they'll get with the ND fanbase.
Unfortunately for them, the tradeoff was giving up the LSU/UA primetime game.
