What happened to Neal? Saw he got injured

Idk but there's a few people on BOL saying it's not serious and it was more precautionary than a serious injury

Saban on TE Cameron Latu: "He's had a really good spring so far, shown a lot of maturity, made a lot of plays. Very athletic guy. ... He's got a much better command of the offense."
Saban on QBs: "I think Bryce played well again. I think Jalen Milroe showed a lot of improvement from a week ago."
Saban said Roydell Williams had the most yards in the scrimmage. "I'm really pleased with all our running backs. I don't think that's an issue on our team right now. If those guys can stay healthy, I think that's a strength for us."

Saban: "We want the young guys to sort of settle into one spot. I think that would be helpful, which we did this week. I think that helped JC (Latham) and I think it's helped Tommy (Brockermeyer) on his side."
Saban on punters: "Charlie Scott did a good job today. He had probably his best day. He was injured some, didn't go through the offseason program. Ty Perine continues to have a great leg. We've just gotta get him to be a little more consistent, and he really has done that."

No kidding. The last thing we need is for our monster of a LT to go down. I know there are a lot of folks that are pumped to see what our 2 true freshmen 5 star OTs look like (me being one of them), but there is usually a big difference between a 5 star Jr OT and a 5 star true freshman OT. I think keeping Young upright this year is going to be key for our offense (I know, I'm not going very far out on a limb with that one).

Charlie is officially back. I can safely say the season is saved. Love those grad assistantships that cover tuition plus stipend.

The offensive line is the key to it all. Everything else is in place to be dominant again. Just have to stay healthy and consistent up front on the offensive line. I'm not worried about Bryce, the receivers, backs or tight ends.

Alabama down two more O-linemen in second spring scrimmage (BOL)
Notes from Alabama's 2nd spring scrimmage
Notes from Alabama's 2nd spring scrimmage
quote:
Alabama held its second of three scrimmages on Saturday afternoon -- a two-hour, game-like practice at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Here are nuggets from the Crimson Tide’s scrimmage:
-- The first-team defense was dominant once again. There were few, if any, changes in terms of personnel, and the pass rush was effective for the second week in a row, as both defenses combined for double-digit sacks. Needless to say, guys like Will Anderson and Christopher Allen have had good springs. The play of both secondaries was also noteworthy with Marcus Banks picking off two passes -- from both QBs -- and returning one for a score.
-- Bryce Young once again led Alabama’s first-team offense and threw three touchdowns and an interception. Tight ends Jahleel Billingsley and Cameron Latu and wide receiver Javon Baker were on the receiving end of Young’s touchdown throws. Paul Tyson, working with the twos, and running back Kyle Edwards connected on a score, and true freshman quarterback Jalen Milroe threw a touchdown to walk-on Joshua Lanier. Milroe also had some nice runs.
-- Nick Saban said that running back Roydell Williams led the team in rushing, and according to sources, he was arguably the star of scrimmage No. 2. Williams rushed for more than 100 yards and scored a touchdown with the ones. As for the other backs. Brian Robinson had a long run, while Kyle Edwards caught the touchdown from Tyson and scored on the ground.
-- Saban said left tackle Evan Neal left the scrimmage with an undisclosed injury and right guard Javion Cohen is dealing with a bone spur and did not participate. The first-team offensive line, at the end of the scrimmage, looked like this: Tommy Brockermeyer at left tackle, Tommy Brown at left guard, Chris Owens at center, Damieon George at right guard and Kendall Randolph at right tackle. Despite the injuries up front, the Tide still ran the ball well.
-- The second-team line struggled a good bit, but again, it was affected by injuries. Amari Kight moved back to left tackle and to his right was left guard Terrence Ferguson II, center Darrian Dalcourt, right guard Seth McLauglin and right tackle JC Latham -- two true freshmen.
-- As for special teams, placekicker Will Reichard was 5-for-5 on field goals after a perfect 2020 season through the uprights. Charlie Scott continues to be the top punter, and Saban said the second scrimmage was “probably his best day” of the spring. Ty Perine also boomed a couple of punts, but as Saban mentioned afterward, he just needs to be more consistent.
-- What’s next: UA will practice again Tuesday and Thursday before Saturday’s A-Day Game.

What was the athletic department's reason for charging admission this year?
The AD lost $Ms in revenue due to the pandemic. 50,000 capacity @ $5/ticket = $250,000 revenue.
Was that the stated reason? That's almost laughable. $250,000 is a ridiculously insignificant amount of money, relative to the cash reserves of this athletic department and the surpluses that are generated every year, including the year coming up.

I hadn't seen the stated reason. I disagree with your suggestion that 1/4 of a million dollars in revenue is insignificant, especially considering recent losses of revenue.

A quarter million would be a nice start for Coleman.

Feel free to disagree. In my opinion, 0.15% of the $164,000,000 income reported in January 2020 is a hugely insignificant amount.
Less than two-tenths of a percent.
I would agree that an online ticketing process is an effective way of controlling numbers.

Oh, absolutely. It would make a whopping two-tenths of a percent downpayment on the $115,000,000 price tag of the planned renovations.

If it gets the ball rolling then so be it

Sounds like we are gonna have a GOAT level defense again this year. I’m hopeful.
Could be but with today’s offenses it probably won’t come close statistically to 16’ or 11’. I was pleased with last year’s defense.

Anybody know how Reichard did?

$250k is almost 2% of the 2019 AD profit. Idk what % of the 2020 AD lost revenue it is.
ETA: It's 60% of the $415k cost to move the elephant statue to BDS.
