Auburn linebacker Chandler Wooten opts out for this season. Expecting a baby.

Some rumor on Twitter that there are 2 Alabama players that will opt out. I’m hoping this guy is full of shite because he’s one of those Twitter guys who tries to break news the same time that zenitz does. Fingers crossed he’s wrong cus he’s a doucher.

What's the difference between then and than? The way to keep the pair straight is to focus on this basic difference: than is used when you're talking about comparisons; then is used when you're talking about something relating to time. Than is the word to choose in phrases like more than, smaller than, smoother than, and further than.

He is the one to start the rumor. He like to throw cheese against the wall, hoping it would stick.

I don't think so. Have you seen all the players that are opting out right now. A lot players that are potential 1st round draft picks.

Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore
Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons
Miami defensive lineman Greg Rousseau
Minnesota receiver Rashod Bateman
Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley.
Clemson Xavier Thomas had COVID-19 & may redshirt per Dabo.

These are different times.

I see that guy always arguing with Drew DeArmond and he's a real douchebag. It's easy to talk shite behind an anonymous moniker online. Not so much in real life.

Look at all the players opting out in the NFL.

Every college team will likely have around 10-15 players opt out this year. The fear of the virus is strong.

I don't know what is making people weirder around here the pressures of dealing with COVID or there being a chance of no football this year.

Ignore that guy. He's a passive aggressive troll and definitely not an Alabama fan.

It's also irrational. 50% of all covid deaths have come from nursing homes (make up about 0.6% of population). 81% come from people 65+. According to the CDC, people age 1 - 24 have made up a total of 230 deaths due to covid (weeks ending 2/1 through 7/29).

If you are a college aged student, you have a significantly better chance of drowning than you do dying from Covid. Are students staying away from pools, lakes, and oceans? Hardly.

Is this virus bad? Absolutely. Especially if you are 65+ or have one of a handful of underlying medical conditions. That said, if you are a college or professional athlete surrounded by incredible medical teams, enhanced nutrition, and a team of people who are financially motivated to keep you healthy, then you are likely in a significantly better position to deal with this than any of your peers.

Long term effects. They are just now studying the long term effects for people who have had and recovered from this virus, young and old.

If you're a college athlete, and wanting a future with the NFL or NBA, or any other professional sports, you want to make sure your body stays healthy.

Blood clotting, stroke, and embolisms
Physicians report that patients hospitalized for Covid-19 are experiencing high rates of blood clots that can cause strokes, heart attacks, lung blockages, and other complications, Parshley reports.

For instance, physicians are seeing an uptick in strokes among young patients with Covid-19.

quote:

Heart damage
Physicians have also reported an increase in inflammation of and damage to the heart muscle in Covid-19 patients. One study published in March found that out of 416 hospitalized Covid-19 patients, 19% showed signs of heart damage.

Another study from Wuhan published in January found 12% of Covid-19 patients showed signs of cardiovascular damage. Other studies have since found evidence of myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle that can cause scarring, and heart failure in Covid-19 patients.

Now, physicians warn that Covid-19 survivors may experience long-lasting cardiac damage and cardiovascular problems, which could increase their risk for heart attack and stroke. Doctors also warn Covid-19 could worsen existing heart problems.

quote:

Lung damage
Research shows some patients experience lung symptoms such as pain and a dry cough, weeks after recovering from the virus.

Physicians have also found evidence of scarring in Covid-19 patients' lungs. According to Parshley, some CT scans show Covid-19 patients have light gray patches on their lungs called "ground-glass opacities," which don't always heal. One Chinese study found the patches in 77% of patients, Parshley reports.

Brennan explained that the "virus creates an incredibly aggressive immune response" that causes "spaces [in the lungs to be] filled with debris and pus, making your lungs less pliable." According to Brennan, this type of lung damage can be permanent and could result in reduced lung capacity.

quote:

Neurological symptoms
Research shows Covid-19 can also affect the central nervous system after patients showed neurological symptoms like headaches, dizziness, loss of taste and smell, and impaired consciousness. According to researchers, symptoms were most common in patients with severe cases of the disease.

Mitchell Elkind, president-elect of the American Heart Association and professor of neurology and epidemiology at Columbia University, said doctors should be "on the lookout for long-term neurocognitive problems," including decreased concentration and memory as well as dysfunction of the peripheral nerves that lead to the "arms, legs, fingers, and toes."

those are almost all who experienced severe symptoms from covid 19. Just being on a vent, means you could have long term problems. But, if any athletes dont want to take a chance, we should not complain. Hearing a Maryland QB is sitting out, so Taulia might have a better shot at playing this year.
